Yes smaller batteries can be used and as you would expect...the Brushless DC motors are almost twice as expensive with regen, sealed and thrust bearings.

Thanks for the info Bud.I was looking at the fact the Ray put out approx.200# thrust but obviously the trolling motors must be propped for max. static thrust and drop off as rapidly as speed rises.re
