Re: No Vibration? - How did you get there?
I have a 12m cat with 2 Thunderstruck set ups with their standard Chain coupling. Works perfectly with minimal vibration.

Re: Two voltage battery banks on one charger
I¡¯d suggest a dc/dc charger - http://www.battery-management-voltage-converter.com/m.step_down_dc-dc_battery_chargers.html also a 72vdc generator with auto start/stop. Polar Power May be able to make

Re: Supplementary electric power for heavy old sailing boat
I would definitely worry about, and fortify your cutlass bearing but I can say for sure that the electric motor and the bearing on the Velvet drive transmissions are NO PROBLEM. This was a big concern

Re: Relationship of voltage to capacity
I have hand-me-down batteries so it¡¯s hard to set a meter correctly. I¡¯m not sure what condition they were in when I got them. Never got around to doing proper capacity testing. For semi accurate

I have not used my e-propulsion T'struck 10kw system for trips, only as an auxiliary for marina exit/return. Sometimes against a 2-3 knot current. Just to set comparison: Are you using the

Re: Relationship of voltage to capacity
Bob is right. Even without electric propulsion, voltage isn't a good measure of state of charge. With the huge power draw of propulsion, the voltage will drop below values that would be alarm-worthy

Re: Two voltage battery banks on one charger
Why bother connecting to the solar charger from your generator? Just connect a proper charger right to the battery bank. If the generator come on due to low voltage obviously the solar charger is not

Re: Two voltage battery banks on one charger
They make 12v batt chargers that take 48v input. I have one but haven't installed yet as I still have a separate panel and charge controller for 12v. I want that real estate back though so I can use
