Dear Group

Hello. ?I must immediately confess that I am no engineer ~ as can readily be appreciated as I have a >gulp< MacBook Pro. ??

Please would someone help explain how one navigates the programme to chain several filter sections, thus :-

When the menu offers a choice of one and seemingly no opportunity to add more (as in the above)

Many thanks

B Wildered?

Check out the description on using the track pad to right click.

On Windows, I right-click and get a menu with 'Insert' which lets me add a filter section of my choice. See attached.

As John says, Mac is different. Mice generally, hold the Control key while you click the mouse. There are other ways.

The first schematic, and feel free to correct me?if I'm wrong, but those RC filters are only to correct the tonal quality. They are only used as change the frequency of the sound.

The second schematic, that filter is not an RC filter. It is meant to stabilize the power supply voltage, however, the schematic shows ceramic, not polarized electrolytic capacitors. Don't understand the use of these type of caps.

To John on insert blocks: Just tried it on my MacBook, pressing two fingers in the middle of the pad gives the right-click option which allows you to inset the new blocks. It was the toughest thing for me to get used to on the Mac having no right-click. When I went back to Windows, the two finger tap worked on there two so it's become a bit of a habit across both systems now :)

To Dave on ceramic caps: Do you mean the schematic symbol being non-polarised caps? It's always shown the non-polarised caps, however it's something that bugs me, so PSUD3 will have polarised caps (pic shown for attention). The only danger with this, is that they will be wrong if someone is putting together an old school tube power supply with paper-in-oil caps. I may as well make this "choosable" :)?
