Re: Is there a build for M1/M2 Mac?
Thanks for the info Ian.
Any open source as a group thing needs to be run from a development plan with agreed tasks and controlled updates. If people want a free for all, they can fork the software and do as they wish - it shouldn't be allowed to impact the core product. Regards, Duncan |

I'm not a software guy, but if anyone knows where the resources are to work through this installation issue, I'd take a stab at it.? LOL, it'd be a real shot in the dark so to speak.Hi Chris, I did write a reply to you on May 9th over Mac security constraints and the fix - did you get to see it? /g/duncanampspsud/message/286 Regards, Duncan |

You know that your TSC got re-written in JavaScript.Hi Paul, Yes, I saw the Javascript version - it's really good. In fact it was so good and worked on any system with a browser, so it did not make sense for me to continue developing the Windows version of TSC. Regards, Duncan |
Re: Is there a build for M1/M2 Mac?
Here's the strange thing...? I was running into that exact issue. So perhaps it was not an Intel/M2 issue. Last night I updated my computer's OS to the latest and this morning PSUD2 worked fine.?

Power Supply Design Program
At one time about 6 months ago I was in an io group where there was a program you could use to design a power supply, made available through that group. Not long after that my Windows 7 laptop crashed with a bad hard drive. I got another hard drive and put Linux Mint 21.1 on it. So I lost all my groups and log-ins.? Does that design program work on Linux and how do I get it? Thank you, Tom Finley, Monroe NC. htfprinting@...

Re: Is there a build for M1/M2 Mac?
Hi,
Thanks for picking up on this. The .dmg file uploaded here is meant for Intel hardware only I'm afraid. Sorry it didn't work for you, I'll make the files page more descriptive on this. My current setup is a MacBook Pro using Intel i5 processor, that's all I have available to me to develop and test the product. It's not viable for me to go out and get M1/M2/M3 hardware that I would have to pay for and use infrequently (PSUD is all done for free so generates only cost - no income). This is going to be a growing dilemma as the Apple hardware base migrates to newer processors. I'm having a think about what the options might be around this. 1. Open source PSUD 3 and later versions to allow a wide community to help with development and code testing 2. Phase out Mac versions of the product and support 3. Start some sort of charging model for the product to enable more hardware for development Open to sensible suggestions... Regards, Duncan |
Re: Downloading PSUD for Mac
Hi Chris,
There was an issue identical to this picked up in late 2020, it was linked to a MacOS upgrade which locked down the security tighter. There's a fix for it, but the permissions need to be applied at the Mac end (I can't do anything in the software). There's a thread listing the error, explaining the issue and finally providing the fix: /g/duncanampspsud/topic/77707176#msg20 If you get an opportunity to try, please feed back and let me know if that fixes things for you. Re: Downloading PSUD for Mac
Hi,
There's a note in the files area, however it is pretty vague as it doesn't give any OS version numbers: I'm not sure how far back PSUD will work as I only have the one MacBook Pro to support this and I always keep it on the freshest OS version. I do know however that PSUD has worked on MacOS 12/13/14, so MacOS after October 2021 should be fine with the downloads on this site. Had a look at the release dates and MacOS X 10.7.x was released in July 2011 so I couldn't guarantee this would work - it's really far back down the release chain. Would be handy if others are on a non-recent MacOS if they could post what it's working or not working on? This would allow me to give potential downloaders a more accurate set of guidelines to work with, thanks. Regards, Duncan |
Re: psud2 download
Hi,
You posted on 21st March last year that you couldn't download it. I asked for some more info but never got a reply ->?/g/duncanampspsud/topic/97773153#205 You raised the exact same issue on 2nd January, I referred to the questions from 21st March, but again, never got a reply ->?/g/duncanampspsud/topic/103479180#267 I'm only going to be able to help you if you provide some clues as to the issues you are having. Regards, Duncan |
Re: Valve doubler bug in PSUD2 ?
OK that's a good bit of info, thanks.
It does make me concerned though, as the model is the same for all the diodes; solid state as well as vacuum tube. At least I can duplicate the issue at this end, and to be honest, that's half the battle with fixing things :) Regards, Duncan |
