Windows 10 has the 'Sounds' dialog (right-click on the taskbar speaker icon) which lets me adjust the levels for physical input and output devices, Volume Mixer (also right-click the taskbar speaker icon) which lets me adjust the output levels for each application, and 'App volume and device preferences' (buried in Windows Settings) which lets me assign physical input and output devices to an individual application, as well as adjust the output level for each application. But nothing to adjust the INPUT level for each application, sadly.

Anything like pavucontrol for Windows?

I have a Sabrent USB audio device connected between a Kenwood TS-570 and a desktop PC, which is running Windows 10. When I adjust the audio input levels for a good level as reported by Direwolf (~50), the level is much too high for the other applications that I use - Fldigi, JS8Call, JTDX, etc. But if I adjust the audio input levels to satisfy these applications, then Direwolf reports an audio level of ~5.
?
I'm trying to find a simple utility that will allow me to adjust the audio INPUT level per each application like I can do with 'pavucontrol' in Linux, but for Windows.
?
I've looked at multiple different "audio mixer" utilities for Windows, but they all only seem to do audio OUTPUT control per application. Right now I'm using something called 'VoiceMeeter Banana', which I think I have finally gotten setup and working right (?), but it's WAY over-complicated for what I am trying to do, with multiple inputs and outputs to tweak (VAIO? AUX? A1? B3? huh?) and various buttons and knobs to twiddle.
?
I just want something simple like pavucontrol for Windows. :(? Has anybody found something like this?
?

I am now going direct from Easy Digi to the TH-F6 (extension cable not used). I have also installed multiple toroid style chokes on everything but still get RF buzz. When running on the battery, it sounds pretty clean. My power supply is a recapped Heath HW-202-1 and I have tried a 20 amp switcher with similar results.

The good news it that it appears to be reliable but annoying and will always be a pebble in my shoe.

There are multiple USB Audio Devices with GPIO capability.

I have two DRA-36M boards on the packet station I am trying to configure and Direwolf is having trouble enumerating the PIDs. I've read and followed the instructions here /g/direwolf/message/5498 but OP never received a reply after confirming he too pasted the entire PID after PTT CM108. This is on a Windows 10 VM. I've changed the Friendly Name of each card in the registry to make device selection easier.
Here is the error I receive:

This set up (radios, vm, direwolf, RMS, etc.) worked well during testing when I was using a DRA and a signalink.
I've reached out to Kevin at Master's Communications to see if he has an option for altering PID. However, the way I'm reading John's post in the 2021 thread linked above, the PTT lines I have should work. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Trouble connecting to APRS2 using direwolf.conf & HT on Rpi 3, decodes beacons well though....

I see my confusion. I don't know how the lines got separated, but I can see in the "raw" conf file that the comment is on the same line. Rectified. Thank you.

And APRSC, again me misinterpreting the Direwolf report stating "check server status here ", which I thought was going to show how my igate was reporting to the aprs2 server, which it is not. It is just the status of the server I am currently connected to. I had a tab open, which was not helpful.

Aprs.fi seems to have the info I need. It does seem to all be working. So now I can temporarily shelf this aspect of the project and work on antennas - soon it will have its very own Ringo Ranger, rather than sharing the antenna via a switch.

In conclusion: I feel that the instruction PDF is probably too deep, as are the options on the direwolf.conf file. I think there should be a "basic setup" and then an in depth setup details for the deeper nerd. I don't think I will need most of the instructions available, and they caused me more confusion than necessary.

Thank you everyone for your time and help!

Note: PTT not configured for channel 0. (OK if using VOX.)
When using VOX, ensure that it adds very little delay (e.g. 10-20) milliseconds
between the time that transmit audio ends and PTT is deactivated.
For example, if using a SignaLink USB, turn the DLY control all the
way counter clockwise.
Using VOX built in to the radio is a VERY BAD idea. ?This is intended
for voice operation, with gaps in the sound, and typically has a delay of about a
half second between the time the audio stops and the transmitter is turned off.
When using APRS your transmiter will be sending a quiet carrier for
about a half second after your packet ends. ?This may interfere with the
the next station to transmit. ?This is being inconsiderate.
If you are trying to use VOX with connected mode packet, expect
frustration and disappointment. ?Connected mode involves rapid responses
which you will probably miss because your transmitter is still on when
the response is being transmitted.
Read the User Guide 'Transmit Timing' section for more details.

My interpretation of the manual was that it would look in the home directory, not that there was a different configuration file which, of course, has not been modified and has no information in it. However, this file also does not have any reference to the audio input source either.
The home directory also has an sdr.conf file.
I do not recall whether I ran a command to install these, I followed instructions, I believe from the Github. I did have difficulty editing the conf file from the Terminal, so I have been editing it in the GUI, which could explain why I am editing one or another copy. My difficulty in editing things using the Terminal often is a dyslexic failing with "blind" directory hierarchies and typos (something lifetime linux users do not understand, I know).

ANYWAY, trying to force the local direwolf.conf as you just suggested did not work, I think that forced the home directory one, as it would not decode. But I just copied the contents of the stripped down file to the home directory copy and I am now signed into the IGSERVER. I am not sure if it is all working however, as it is posting a thread of?

Re: Trouble connecting to APRS2 using direwolf.conf & HT on Rpi 3, decodes beacons well though....

Just a suggestion.

Locate all the direwolf.conf files on your computer (find or locate or
whatever works for you), make a list of them and their paths.
Rename each one to something unique, like direwolf-1.conf,
direwolf-2.conf, etc.
One by one, rename one of them back to direwolf.conf, execute direwolf
and examine results. Afterwards, rename back to the unique name and try
the next one.
Make note of what works and what doesn't.
When you find the one that works as desired or that exhibits a problem
you can figure out, leave that one named direwolf.conf, edit if
necessary, and leave all other renamed to something other than
direwolf.conf.

Crude, but effective, especially for those of us less than outstanding
experts in the field.

It shouldn't be able to do anything over RF since I am only connected to the output of the HT. Maybe I don't have an argument in the config to stop digipeaters from repeating my location. I thought I did.
