Re: Windows Icon?
DIrewolf_icon.ico and direwolf_icon.png are in the cmake\cpack folder: https://github.com/wb2osz/direwolf/tree/master/cmake/cpack I believe Windows will only use the *.ico file. ------- Robert

Windows Icon?
Silly question. Is there an icon for Direwolf that can be used for the shortcut on the main screen? Or did I just create the shortcut wrong? I thought there was one at one time. Arnold, KQ6DI

Re: Switching between iGate and Radio
I didn't explain that very well, but what I want is to send my APRS packets out over APRS-IS, unless my network goes down then try over RF. I need to ponder the ICHANNEL docs some more, but I think
Re: Options for starting direwolf
I have the MCP software in case I need to do this. I'm hoping that the digirig will work better. Joe ________________________________ Sent: February 11, 2025 10:38 To: direwolf

Re: Options for starting direwolf
Joe, Once you have a cable that can assert PTT on the 6pin DIN cable, be sure to also take the radio out of Echolink aka "Sysop" mode. --David KI6ZHD

Re: Options for starting direwolf
If you find that the levels are too low regardless of which soundcard you use, I think David sent a link to a page that detailed how to adjust the levels in the radio for Echolink with the Windows

Hi again, after review everything (connectors, audio levels in SCU-17 and 847, audio devices, ...) I've found the "guilty" at last. The PCM device from the "USB Audio CODEC" had its level showed in

Danny, yes it is but the level is so low with my alsamixer levels at max.? It was suggested that the audio device might be the culprit and I happen to have a digirig that I had previously bought.?

Re: Options for starting direwolf
Joe, Isn't your PTT working now with the Kenwood cable and serial port RTS? Why are you entertaining a DigiRig at all? It isn't needed. Perhaps somebody using the DATA jack PTT signal can explain

Re: Options for starting direwolf
Hi Joe, Those cables will work for your digirig mobile, but you will not use the green one. The black cable in the AUDIO port is the one you will use. The Digirig will PTT your radio via the RTS on

Allow me to clarify then.? Right now I have the digirig mobile.? It has an audio jack and a serial jack for PTT.? The one I need is Kenwood TM-V71A Digirig Cable Set ¨C digirig (

Re: Options for starting direwolf
I just realized that this specific URL is wired for 9600bps only which is NOT what you want for APRS. The cable I'm thinking of is: https://digirig.net/product/kenwood-tm-v71a-cables/ though

Re: Options for starting direwolf
Hello Andrew, You're right here.. the PG-5H cable set isn't the right one here. Right. To me, the ideal setup would be a digirig cable ONLY going to the 6pin DIN DATA port:

Re: Options for starting direwolf
Yes, but PTT _isn't_ on the other end of the PG-5H audio cable, so there's no supported (by Kenwood) way to get to that pin. I suspect that is why Kenwood made the cable set and the corresponding

Re: Options for starting direwolf
PTT is also on the 6pin DATA jack as well and I'd recommend that the packet PTT signal should be asserted on that connector. --David KI6ZHD

Re: Options for starting direwolf
Joe has this cable connected to the serial port so that he can assert PTT in Echolink Sysop mode using the RTS signal. He absolutely needs it for PTT in his configuration. 73 Danny, K5CG HH
