Re: Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
I did read your entire post.? That is why I responded. As I read your post, it implies the cm108 soundcard will show up as something like /dev/ttyUSB0.? ? If I were reading this and had only a

Re: Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
Sound cards are NOT tty devices.I have never seen a USB sound card show up as /dev/ttyUSB# -> these are serial ports. To write udev rules, you need to get several things CORRECT: 1.

Re: Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
As someone pointed out you can set a unique name using udev --- if they have unique serial numbers (sound cards don't have MAC addresses typically) Here is a way to check /sbin/udevadm info -n

Re: Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
you can also write a udev rule that will assign the same ttyXXX to the device HowTo: fixed name for a udev device | noctis.de (

Re: Increase line-in gain with alsa?
Am not surprised to hear that as I have seen Direwolf still decode packets when I had a cable problem, which had knocked the volume level down to zero. Lee K5DAT

Re: Increase line-in gain with alsa?
The reported audio level is not critical.? 20 is fine.? 10 is fine.? 5 is fine. 50 was just a suggestion to get the maximum dynamic range out of the audio A/D converter while keeping it under the

Re: Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
Great write-up! I would like to add: instead of naming the cards, you could name by socket name/position which would not change. -sam

Re: Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
Step 1: Run the cm108 utility and you should see something like this: $ cm108 VID? PID?? Product????????????????????????? Sound?????????????????

Re: Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
Or, point each Direwolf instance to a specific USB port Device number or something similar?? Running lsusb shows the same vendor device ID for both C-Media cards of course, since they are identical,

Tell Direwolf to use specific USB sound card based on MAC address?
Is there a way to tell Direwolf to use a specific USB sound card based on the card's unique MAC address or something else.?? It's for a setup using Linux Mint, two identical Syba sound cards (CM108

Here's a Github site with a script for the audio injector Z card. https://github.com/Audio-Injector/stereo-and-zero/blob/master/audio.injector.scripts-0.1/audioInjector-test.sh I haven't looked deeply

Re: Increase line-in gain with alsa?
Hi Craig, I'm getting the receive audio out from the back of the rig, but not the speaker jack. I don't recall if it's from the HF or VHF port (TRS or DIN); I think I ended up wiring them together

Hi Greg, yah, it technically works fine, but I'm trying to endorse alternate hardware for the digipi? ( http://craiger.org/digipi/ ), and can't do that with the audio injector zero... if you're using

Re: Increase line-in gain with alsa?
Hi Craig, You know, another approach might be to ask if it's otherwise working... just let it be? Ideal is 50 on the volume report, but 20 isn't half bad (ok, so just under half). But is it working?

Re: Increase line-in gain with alsa?
Yes, all of that is correct.? This works fine on other audio cards, the connection is not the problem.? I'm trying to make this new card (audio injector z) work, but I can't get around the -6dB

The error from Direwolf is pretty clear: Hamlib support on Windows isn't supported in the stock Direwolf v1.6 windows binaries today. With that said, there is experimental Hamlib support available if

Re: Increase line-in gain with alsa?
Since you're using 1200bps, are you sure you're using the correct pins and setting on your FTM400 (DON'T use the discriminator interface): 1. Use the correct I/O pins on the FTM400: -- pin 1 - PKD

Ok. Thanks. I receive this error: ->> Windows version of direwolf does not suport HAMLIB Hamlib is running. It is needed another COM port for PTT the radio?. With Vara or Ardop, no more ports needed.

Hi David, I normally run with Fix Bits = 1.? I started recording event timing this morning and already I'm convinced it's not satellite induced because it's happening when I'm not in a satellite
