Re: Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
Hello John, Curious, what device are you using? Even with Echolink, a keydown delay of 1.5sec is really way to slow. --David KI6ZHD

Re: Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
I apologize - it was meant as a dry bit of humor, perhaps it was a bit too dry. A bit like the time I drily asked someone on Usenet if they were measuring metric or Imperial Watts. 73, Dana K6JQ

Re: Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
The device was designed specifically for Echolink. This lack of an adjustable T/R delay was intentional. They sell another device that is identical, except the T/R delay is adjustable. Of course, I

Yeah... after I replied, I realized that. I stayed silent to avoid my face turning a deeper shade of red.

Very good ... thank you.

Re: Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
I would agree.... 1500ms is terrible and I can't think of a reason why someone would design in such a huge delay into their product! --David KI6ZHD

Re: Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
1.5 seconds is an eternity. Even lousy HTs can T/R switch faster than that. I would investigate getting that shortened. -Doug- [direwolf_packet] <direwolf_packet@...> wrote:

Re: Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
Thanks.. I'll give that a shot and see.... my adapter, though, looks like it has a TX to RX delay that's set to 1.5 seconds. The RX to TX time is good. I *can* also use my Rigblaster Nomic with my

Oh, can't you set a negative transmit hang time for this? 73, Dana K6JQ

Re: Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
Hello John, Which HT are you using? Though HTs will work, their TX keyup times can be pretty slow (250ms+). Settings in the direwolf.conf file for TXDELAY (time Direwolf waits after the PTT signal has

David certainly knows the ins and outs of Dire Wolf better than I, and he recently recommended something to another operator that I wasn't aware of - which is pretty slick. A video is worth a bunch of

Disregard.... my device has a built in T/R delay that is hard coded.

Transmitter stays keyed too long. T/R Delay rime
I'm using DW with a USB Echolink adapter on an HT. Essemtially it is a USB soundcard and keying circuit on a dongle. Yes, it works... BUT The radio stays keyed longer than I'd like. I could miss

Hello Alex, So it sounds like you want to display various stats from the APRS world onto an LCD display. That shouldn't be too hard to do. - First, you need to get a display. The HamHud seems to use a

My RPi and RTL dongle iGate is really working well. It has taken a bit of sorting out after I tracked down a problem with a knackered SD card but it is perfect now. One next step for me is to get some

Nope. APRS, though. Just Lynn's (KJ4ERJ) APRSISMO <https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/APRSISDR/conversations/topics/1458>. recently under development. 73, Jim A. [direwolf_packet]

Packet Terminal Program for Droid, etc.
All, Anyone here ever seen the equivalent of a packet terminal program for portable tablets, phones and anything else that uses one of those Bluetooth TNCs? Thanks. John
