It sounds like your receive audio isn't getting into DireWolf. It doesnt matter if the radio can hear the signals if our sound card can't. And those cheap radios use really non-standard wiring on the speaker-mic jacks; sleeve of the tip-ring-sleeve plug is rarely ground.
I recommend you install the program "audacity" on your computer, and run it instead of DireWolf on your sound card interface to verify you actually are getting audio into the computer. Audacity is a digital sound mixer and processor for musicians, so it will display and play back exactly what it gets from the sound card's input. Configure audacity to listen to your sound card and click the red Record button. You will see a real-time plot of the recorded sound signal.
Tell us what audio you see on the computer instead of coming out the Anytone's speaker.
Hope this helps.

Moved everything outside to the garage where I can use my j-pole. Some progress but still stuck. I now show up on the internet and am now able to beacon out which I can see on aprs.fi. No receipts of packets nor digipeating. Not showing up on APRSC website.
Have the alsamixer settings as recommended. Squelch = 1. AT878 is seeing everything but it's not gettting translated to Direwolf.
