Hmmm... does these extra sound cards have unique USB serial numbers, or are they all serial number zero?

I ran into an interesting problem with a couple of USB-to-RS232 adapters I had. Same cheap no-name brand, same chipset, both serial number zero. Individually they worked fine. When I plugged the second device into my system (Fedora Core, don't remember which drop) while the first one was still connected, the system hung as soon as I tried to access the serial ports. The only way I could avoid it was to not use both identical devices on the same system (the GPS is now connected through a different brand USB-to-RS232 adapter with a different chipset).

Since you're using cheap USB sound chips in these adapters (and probably the same brand and model), do they have identical serial numbers to thereby confuse the USB drivers? It seems to cost extra money to get USB adapter chips with unique serial numbers, so that's something that is commonly skipped in the low-budget parts.
