I've talked to several commercial radio shop owners here in Michigan, and they told me they will typically reprogram a radio for free. Many are HAMs and are happy to see the radios get used.

Worth the ask, if you don't want to make your own interface for a one off.? On the other hand, if you might be switching frequencies, it would be worth looking into the interface side.
