Re: Raspberry Pi4 EasyDigi and Direwolf

Hello John,

I am indeed running GPSD. But it already occurred when I didn't have GPSD in my direwolf.conf.

GPSD taking over other serial ports has nothing to do with Direwolf at all.? Once a vanialla gpsd is running, it can attempt to take over and BLOCK the use of serial ports.? Now what's more confusing is that sometimes, gpsd won't try to use the serial ports until a gps client tries to connect to the gpsd server.? Only at this point, gpsd will bring up the serial ports, asserting the DTR, etc.

At this moment my config is:

ADEVICE? plughw:2,0

MYCALL NOCALL

GPSD

TBEACON EVERY=4 symbol="igate" comment="Mobile digipeater" SENDTO=IG

MODEM 1200

AGWPORT 8000
KISSPORT 8001
DIGIPEAT 0 0 ^WIDE[3-7]-[1-7]$|^TEST$ ^WIDE[12]-[12]$ TRACE
IGSERVER noam.aprs2.net
IGLOGIN NOCALL 22761
TBEACON DELAY=0:30 EVERY=5:00 VIA=WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1 SYMBOL=igate
IGTXLIMIT 6 10

At this moment I have all the PTT commented out.
The USB-Serial cable is /dev/ttyUSB0

You need to change your callsign so when your system transmits over RF, you're ID'ing your station.? You'll also need to update the IGLOGIN line with the correctly calculated APRS-IS passcode.??

For the USB serial cable, how are you EXACTLY connecting it to your Easy Digi?? Please provide which pin on the 9pin serial connector and what pin you connect it to on the EasyDigi, etc.? The detail here matters.
