Could/would someone summarize state of this ELS for me?

Gerritv

I have been bouncing around looking at various posts here but I can't come up with a clear picture of the status.

1. Is this a viable project to me to use
2. Where are the files and schematics?

I want/need to build an ELS for my 1022 lathe, would really prefer one with Z and X.

Gerrit

Many thanks for your post.
I will forward your inquiry to Richard UK who was the developer of this system.

I have attached a reply from R UK refence ELS systems.

Gerrit
The ELS software originally on the group was a modification of the
software created by Oleg in Latvia. I made the changes for my own use
and I am not ready to support the software in the field.
If you are looking for proven X and Z control maybe take a look at John
Dammeyer's Electronic Leadscrew system. Website?
Group?[email protected]
Good Luck
Richard Edwards

Thanks Richard for your response.

And for just Z, with possible X if I get lots of help there is AtomicELS.

John, shouldn't you have an option for "No"?? Otherwise you can't tell the difference between people who haven't bothered to reply vs. people who haven't made a conversion.

Julian.

Hi John, in the spring and summer I am mainly working in the garden. I have a construction project that I am designing and that takes precedence?over the shop.

If I do get to the shop I am "trying" to get a direct drive spindle motor installed/working on my lathe.

I had a installed and working but the motor was complaining about too much load so I had to change?the motor.
