I want to start a discussion on adding a X element to . Should I start the discussion here in digitalhobbyist or start a new forum? Currently the discussion is on the Logan Lathe forum since the discussion is no longer about the Logan Lathe but about Jon's leadscrew project it seems having a new locations is appropriate. There are links to Jon's project in my Alternatives post.? So what do you think move the discussion here or start a new forum? I'm not the owner of this group, so I can't tell you it would be OK to post here about it, but it wouldn't bother me any. I haven't started a new group in a while, but I don't think the process has changed, so you could go that route, too. Whatever you do, I'd be interested in following it, too.?

One of?my first Questions will be how to add a X component but all relative?discussions are welcome.
I just formed the group so really have not spent any time formatting.
I did set up a Hashtag? ? ? ? ?#INTRO? ? ? please use this in the subject and tell us about yourself. There is also a #X Hashtag?and there will be more, hashtags make searching easy.
Your first two posts will be moderated.
I will "try" to send out invites but I really am busy with other projects. You can just join as normal.

My two cents?? The original Yahoo E-Leadscrew group was formed to discuss Electronic Lead Screws that were not CNC because groups like CAD-CAM-EDM-DRO were not interested in the discussion and in fact actively dissed it. ? The E-Leadscrew group was never _only_ about the ELS I developed.? And I've made postings on that group to that effect. ? ? So I'd say the best place to discuss any sort of lead screw automaton is the E-Leadscrew group. And considering I paid money to move it to groups.io we might as well get our money's worth. ? Congratulations on starting a new forum and hope you will still continue posting here.
I have been wondering over the past 6 months if you will ever find the "exact" ELS system?
you are yearning to build and or adopt.
It seems that between the RELS and the John D approach you have never been impressed,?
and hope you will find Jon Bryan's ideas will give you that sweet spot to get you over the hurdle of
actually starting and putting something lucrative together.?
Please let us know of your progress on this forum when time permits.
The digitalhobbyist forum was evolved as having a "yellow pages" of different digital ideas for hobbyists?
and where members through there posts with links enabled a quick and easy search or glance of what's happening in this?rapidly changing approach to hobbies, and not specifically going into real technical
details about a single subject matter like JD's forum, which could coincidentally run parallel to your new forum.
These type forums are a little "heavy" for me ?I am not? lecky savvy,but? just a user of digital machines.
I do wish you the very best of luck, and hopefully we will see photos or videos of your lathe up and working using an ELS ? whatever construction you adopt within a few months, as we all know your quest to fit an ELS has not been easy decision for you.
I am sure Richard UK and John D will be the first to applaud your digital lathe upon completion as they have both spent?quite some time on this forum in answering questions from you.

Thanks John, yes it has taken me a while, actually I probably started in John D's yahoo group. Then seeing your post in the Mini Lathe groups got me looking at different methods. It probably has taken three years so far. Thanks for all of your help and encouragement.
I just do not have time to get anything done in the shop.
I have the Z stepper figured out now I need to mount the motor. I have a decent idea of how to mount the X motor.
Possibly this winter I will actually get to it.
I really like Jon's use of the Nextion 3.2" LCD, it is so good to see things.
Implementing X should not be that difficult, as long as I get lots of help as I am not a programmer. As I add pieces?and parts there will be lots of pictures and eventually video of it in action. Ralph
