oh shit . . . yeah, i see it, i see it.? i sincerely appreciate your global approach to promoting the videos.? sorta related: yesterday i was having a conversation with becca about something to do with biology and i asked her if she knew who jbs haldane was.? she didn't, and i was trying to illustrate why he sorta worked in obscurity during his lifetime and it occurred to me to say that he fell victim to what was the main equivalent to cancel culture in the mid-20th century. it was one of those moments On Thu, Mar 25, 2021 at 11:06 AM Dan Buck <vertpurple@...> wrote:

I think that those three people--the actual people--or someone who handles their parler accounts, looked that there was a kids video and a post about Stacey Abrams, etc. and they just blindly upvoted it. Do you see this attachment?? And the coolest thing is that Tomi Lahren has since then un-voted it, which is the coolest thing of all.?? On Thu, Mar 25, 2021 at 11:04 AM David E. Gerstell Academy
So check this out... All of a sudden today I get a call from this academy above from Maryland. I applied for a job like a month ago or so.? And the interview is for tomorrow which is weird in itself Can I ask Facebook friends about that school because it's in Maryland I don't know about it And I was created by the same people who owned Sinclair broadcasting And I really believe it's because of the Ben Carson thing at the top of the website. They went on the website today it says Lou Dobbs, Ben Carson, and told me Lauren all like little news ears |

please help me edit
Hey there, I am writing an article for Mensa again--the main hope is to sneak in a Little News Ears shout out--and I'd like your help with editing / improving it. I've shared it with you as a Google Doc and it is also below. How to Remove a Potato from a Toilet For those of you who truly want to know how to extract a potato that was flushed into a toilet, I’ve got? you covered. The main reason I am writing this is not to teach you how to remove a potato from a toilet, but to share the true creative, innovative, and intellectual joy I felt when I actually accomplished this feat.?? Neurotransmitters were shooting in my brain that I haven’t felt in years. Maybe people who work with their hands feel like this every day?? Not sure.? So the first thing that you have to know is that if you do put a potato into your toilet and you Google "I believe I have the easiest fix of all: threaten to sue the landlord and share pictures on social media." ‘Wait two months. The potato will rot eventually’ “An M80” Accepting that I was on this mission on my own (alas, I have no landlord to sue) (with my wife helping? me move the toilet and my son, the offender, helping me with the garden hose, as I will eventually get to, I? thought the solution would be to get what is sometimes referred to as a toilet snake.? It has a fairly sharp rubber arrowhead. You turn the wheel. The snake goes down and cuts through whatever? is stuck. I think it’s meant to be like a low tech version of those spider robots in Minority Report. Remember? In retrospect, I guess it’s obvious that a rubber arrowhead wouldn’t hew through a raw potato. So here is the solution.
back (which we learned from brewing beer) and eventually just pouring the rest of the water out down
toilet screws.
Note, if the potato is not in your toilet, but is actually in your sewage pipe, you probably need to call a plumber.
I literally shouted, ‘The potato is out!’ three times. Victory was mine! Just a truly amazing feeling.? The question I have for you now is this:? how can we recreate a struggle like this every day when we get to creatively problem-solve? And what should the consequences be for my son? |

A good idea, but we have to collaborate
So the other day an idea flashed my mind that I laughed out loud about and I think it's a really good idea. It's something that I don't have the time to do solely by myself and I do think there is a sort of time limit on this idea.? Picture this... A book on Amazon called The Mike Pence Diaries? and basically it's the behind-the-scenes, full of rage, the side you don't see, of every notable event over the past four years. Like the recent black fly on his head episode would have a diary entry about that.? If just a couple of you were interested... We could together come up with let's say 40 different entry topics and divide the work up. I feel like if we had enough of us working on this it would be like 12 hours of work for each of us total or something like that. And then I guess we could self-publish it. Interested? Dan? |

Re: New Additions to My List of Philosophies / New Gossip
I do hate that. Almost as much as I hate 'debrief.'? 'What was dangerous for kids about your podcast? Anything specific?' There was a line when the Trump supporter character made fun of the idea of being transgender. He said something like, "I might want to be a purple unicorn but just because I want to be doesn't mean I should change.' My argument to the guy was that the two characters can both be stupid, like Homer Simpson like characters. His point was that 'if it could make a child feel bad about himself, it shouldn't be there.' And he's right. So I revamped and moved on. That was one problem that was solved. About drinking outside, it was just a suspicion. We don't really know our neighbors and the little that we do know, most are like blue-collar trump supporters, so I pictured someone being like, 'Let's call that guy in for drinking a beer while his kids are riding their bikes right outside.' But it wasn't that. A parent at school. I don't think my boss ever found out about it. And the 5%, my boss believes in neuro linguistic programming. At heart she is very paranoid, goes by her gut, stressed out, unhappy. There is a part of the job that I just won't do...a fakeness. Like during the pandemic I literally didn't know if the school was going to close. I spoke to her every day. I wasn't negative. I was just kind of...blase/neutral/logical...as I am about a lot of things. Like when she was going to possibly start renting a building nearby I had no feelings about the building. I don't give a shit about buildings. So all of those types of things make her feel like I'm not the right 'class.' I will go to a workshop and honestly say, 'Eh, it was ok,' but to be in 'the game' you have to be like, "oh my god it was so incredible!' So the 5% is that...I could have been a bit more optimistic / fake / something like that. The truth is, stg, being there was like a prison and I knew I had to stay 5 years. She is very paranoid / critical and difficult to handle. Most people quit...I'm the one who took it and basically did every single thing she wanted me to do, even when what she wanted was...ridiculous. She was the puppeteer. I was the puppet. Some parents left because of her actions--through me. The vast majority left because of the pandemic. But in all fairness...it's her business, the shit isn't working, it's a sinking ship, so why not take me out and try someone new. It's logical.? But the vast majority of the failures at the school boil down to her not hiring enough people, or paying enough. She's a terrible business-person, but she thinks she's great. But I'm not bitter. A lot to " unpack" and you can add that phrase to the things you hate list.
Questions..
What was dangerous for kids about your podcast? Anything specific?
What was your 5% of fault? Related to the massage comment or something else? The podcast?
I never knew one can't drink around their kids. What are they complaining about? What's the difference between drinking when kids are inside or outside??
Your lucky that investigation went well. Kids can say anything and there is no way to disprove the allegations.?
It's just " he said, she said " and child services always argue ...why would the child make that up? And it's stacked against the parent/adult and in court one can't cross examine the child or really challenge their allegation.
?I really hope you get that San Diego job. I would argue best city in North America. Would others agree? Todd?
Namibia is beautiful. Great for a long vacation, But lacks a lot of basics for making living there desirable. Some of the best safari opportunity on the planet which would be cool for the kids.
If it were me I would ask expats there about any racial tensions and being a target for crime or harassment.
Glad you are happy buddy!?
Keep us posted

Hello there everyone,
I'm drinking cold white wine in the New Jersey sunshine?in my backyard and it is fucking amazing. Hurrah to global warming at this moment or whatever is causing this. I need this. Oh, and there are no kids here at the moment, not that I don't love them.
Sandra's grandmother died. They are in Canada.
So I guess about two months ago I was hit with three things within the same week or so.
1. My job is downgraded.
There is a long story here and I won't claim that I am 100% blameless, but at its heart I think what I have realized after working in four for-profit schools over the past six years: they suck. Who would have thought that as INSANE as the school I was
in Morocco from 2014 - 2016 it would have been my best experience?
Though I can stay at my job 'indefinitely' it is no longer as Head of School. There's a new one of those.?
I'm almost completely over it.
So this means that I am in the process of applying for new jobs.
As of right now there are two strong prospects:
1. The San Diego Jewish Academy
2. The Windhoek School in Namibia
I've applied for tons. I also have a very eager headhunter working for me with Southern Teachers, so we might end up moving to somewhere like South Carolina or Kentucky.
As for my exact blame for my job I give myself 5% blame.? 47.5% the pandemic. 47.5% my boss.
2. Kids Listen gave me a warning.
So not that you give a crap, but my Little News Ears is in 'Kids Listen,' which is like an 'elite' group of kids podcasts. Mick Sullivan, who does the show The Past and The Curious, which is a really
known?show, told me that one of my shows was too potentially harmful for kids. So I revamped (this show is called Just Vote Moms...two bickering animal-men ...one kind of a southern asshole and one kind of a gayish international white rhino talking about
politics) and I think I solved this one.
3. We are being investigated.
I mean, that's an exaggeration, but Sandra called me in tears a while back and said that the Department of Social Services is going to investigate a claim that was made by a parent of one of Caspian's classmates at school.
I couldn't imagine what it was...until I knew it was about Caspian I pictured it was somebody in our neighborhood complaining that we were drinking a beer outside of our house as Caspian and Sky were playing in the front 'yard.'
But as it turns out, and I do remember when Caspian said this, one day at school he, or one of his friends got him to say, 'My Dad gave me a butt massage.'
I remember when he said it at school. I winced and told him not to make jokes like that.
But it doesn't change the fact that he said it. A parent phoned it in. We were interviewed... a few times Caspian was asked by the social worker, 'Did your father ever give you a butt massage?' and he said YES. Just kidding. He said no.
But holy shit.
And so anyway, with these three big things, if you don't know this about me yet.....I HATE when it gets dark and cold. I HATE not being able to go to the beach once a week. And so I've been pretty down of late.
So I woke up yesterday morning and added to
So that's right. We will get a dog when we move
somewhere.
I love you all. Want to meet together Thanksgiving weekend sometime? Or before Xmas? Let me know.
