Decommissioned IBM blade server giveaway
Due to downsizing and moving from Plano to a smaller location in Whitney TX, l am giving away an older, decommissioned IBM blade eServer model X306. Unit is 19¡± rack mount with two 80GB disks included. No cables. Powered up for me without a problem about a year ago. Probably contains an ancient version of Windows. If interested, email me at: KE5VCT@... for handover logistics. Mike

Update for Jon Jentink meeting
Hi,
As you may know, Jon (J) Jentink passed away June 27, 2024, at his home near Diana, Texas.
There will be a get-together for his friends and acquaintances Sunday, July 21, at 3 PM at the Cheddar¡¯s restaurant at 700 West LBJ Freeway in Irving, Texas. It¡¯s southeast of the intersection of LBJ and MacArthur Boulevard.
We are hopeful that his long-time caregiver Denise will come from East Texas and join us.
If you are can come, please let me know. This will be a good opportunity to share a meal and remember J.

And now for something entirely different: just in case you are still somewhat functional after Independence Day, there's, as always, the DFWRPI Usersgroup Meeting. Though, this month there's a change.
I'm recovering from a hip replacement, and I'm not supposed to drive, so we'll have this one virtual, online only, so NOT IN PERSON at the lab. Everything else is same old, same old. You are not getting rid of me that easily. So, here we go: Topic: DFWRPI 07/2024 Time: Jul 6, 2024 10:00 Central Time (US and Canada) Join Zoom Meeting Meeting ID: 857 0609 4836 Passcode: 544976 --- One tap mobile +13462487799,,85706094836#,,,,*544976# US (Houston) +17193594580,,85706094836#,,,,*544976# US --- Dial by your location ? +1 346 248 7799 US (Houston) ? +1 719 359 4580 US ? +1 253 205 0468 US ? +1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma) ? +1 669 444 9171 US ? +1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose) ? +1 305 224 1968 US ? +1 309 205 3325 US ? +1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago) ? +1 360 209 5623 US ? +1 386 347 5053 US ? +1 507 473 4847 US ? +1 564 217 2000 US ? +1 646 931 3860 US ? +1 689 278 1000 US ? +1 929 205 6099 US (New York) ? +1 301 715 8592 US (Washington DC) Meeting ID: 857 0609 4836 Passcode: 544976 Find your local number: |

J Jentink
Hi, Jon (J) Jentink passed away today, June 27, 2024, at his home near Diana, Texas.
J was an active member of the Dallas/Fort Worth Unix Users Group, the North Texas Linux Users Group, and the Dallas Raspberry Pi Users Group. He was also an Expert-rated ham radio operator interested in QRP transmission and devices.
In lieu of a religious service, we are thinking of a memorial service to be held at a DFW-area restaurant where we can talk about his life. I am thinking of doing this next weekend, July 6 or 7, perhaps around 1 PM.
Please let me know if this seems reasonable to do, or if you have other suggestions of how to honor J.
