Mystic Access tutorial for the Stream 3 - Now with TuneIn included!

Hi everyone,
?
Mystic Access has updated the Stream 3 tutorial to include TuneIn!
?
As a reminder, the Mystic Access tutorial for the Stream 3 is free for anyone who wants to listen to it, no purchase necessary, void where... oh wait, not that last part.
?
With this TuneIn addition, we're now over 13 hours of content. Wow!
?
We're in the process of updating our website (our web guy is really, really busy these days!) so it may take a day or two before we have the updated tutorial on support.humanware.com but if you'd like it now, you can get it on https://mysticaccessdownloads.com/ directly.
?
And since TuneIn is the big change, the folks at Mystic Access were kind enough to provide it as a standalone option. I've reviewed it this weekend, and I gotta say, Kim did a phenomenal job of demonstrating all that you can do in TuneIn. Not gonna lie, I learned a thing or two myself. That can be found at https://mysticaccessdownloads.com/download/demo-of-the-tunein-bookshelf-for-the-stream-3/ !
?
Thank you again to Kim and Chris from Mystic Access for their great work!

Thanks Mathieu for telling us about the Mystic Access tutorial on using Tune-in.? Gave Tune-in a quick try and sure enough we have the adverts and announcements which I presume goes with the free version of Tune-in.? Just one reason I shall not be using it much.? Apart from that I did a search for Angel Radio based in the south of England.? It came up with both streams - Havant and Isle of Weight - but would not let me save the second to favourits telling me it was already saved.? It would seem it cannot distinguish between the two Angel Radio streams.Just possible the aformentioned tutorial may enlighten me if I am doing something wrong.

I note the Humanware UK playlist has been updated to more than 70 stations, including all the BBC feeds.? FiveLive Sports Extra works in that list.? Strange though that Boom Radio and Serenade Radio are not in that list.? Given these stations are growing in listenership with older people then this is something of an omission.

With the many options I have now for listening to UK-based radio and some further afield then these issues with the Stream are not mattering much to me now.

I shall post another message sometime soon about the other ways I am accessing online radio.

Ray.

Dear Ray

Here is an m3u playlist file I have created with which you can listen to Serenade radio on a PC or import into a Stream, I think of all flavours.

I will go and have a look for Boon.

I have found Boon but remembered you have to use the Humanware Companion I think to make a stream compatible playlist.

Well here is a mystery.

?

The stream urls for both Boon and Serenade work fine in VLC and also work when put into vanilla m3u files.

?

However when I use the Humanware companion to create a playlist file it provokes an error from VLC.

The Humanware Companion I have creates a PLS file but I think should still work with the urls. I have not tried importing onto the Victor Stream but from experience if the file does not work in VLC they are unlikely to work on a media player. I tried simply changing the file extension ?from PLS to m3u but no dice.

?

Anyway here is the link to download the Boon playlist file which will work on PC and evo at least.

Hi David

You don't need the Humanware Companion to make a playlist for the VR Stream. At least you didn't need to use it for the 2nd generation.

The .pls file is just a text file, so you can open it with Notepad or any other editor. When you import it into the Stream the program adds more information.

Hi Again

I forgot to say in my previous message, here is a link to a playlist I made for my Stream 2. When you import it to the Stream the software changes the format. I haven't used it for a while, so don't know if all the stations still work. But I am sending it as an example.

Please let me know if this works for the Stream 3.

Pele West

I will try and see if it works later on the Stream3 and Evo.
However it clearly works on the PC with VLC unlike the pls produced by the Humanware Companion so that is promising.
I see from looking at it that it already has Boon and Boon light. I will try and add Serenade in the same format to see if that works as well.

Hi David and Pele.? Just a brief reply.

I already have playlists which include Boom Radio, Serenade Radio and more.? I brought these over from playlists sent to me? quite a while back by Pele.? The stations I am interested in still work, although many do not now which include many mainstream commercial stations which I do not listen to anyway.

I have been trying out some fairly old GGMM speakers which I have managed to activate now with promising results.? No time to go into details but these play all the BBC streams I've asked them to play and most commercial/community stations so far.? While I remember a post has appeared on David Goldfield's list about BBC sounds which I wil forward now.
