Milestone 312 Ace vs VR Trek

Some facts and user experiences are now beginning to filter through about the latest Wi-Fi equipped Milestone 312 Ace player and Wi-Fi radio.? Player and radio Radio and playing audio files and books are its prime features although it will do more with added colour identifier modules and one or two other things which I think are paid-for extras.? So here's what I have heard so far and some detailed questions to folow.

So far I have heard via Access-UK list of its more flexible file system without the need to place books and other audio files in specific places, although the VR Trek's insistance on doing this has never been a chaw for me.

Its smallness is a selling point being, we are told, little bigger than a credit card if a little thicker.? I will say that being able "to put it in a shirt pocket" has never held great apeal for me;? no doubt that's just a personal thing.

I do wish though that this latest Milestone had acquired a Podcast player but alas! it will be some time before that appears.? It is nice to have more than skeletel information on this Bones Player from Germany.

Now, I should no doubt try writing to Milestone on the Podcast player suggestion but more important to me at the moment is, Will this Milestone handle BBC High Quality internet streams?? I am hoping that Adrian who's on this list can try these out - which wil work only within the UK.

I wonder if these rather long and convoluted URLs are actually from a third party site, but I know there is at least one person here who might answer this, and even know of a convenient place where (all) BBC high quality radio feeds are listed.? I in fact got to the feeds above by looking at:

I looked at the answer for accessing BBC Radio Sheffield and then modified that for the other two stations above.

It could well be these feeds are used by Smart Speakers to access radio via BBC Sounds.? They address the annoyance I have not being able to access BBC local radio on the VR Trek using the lowwer quality 128 kbs streams,?? denied to us until Sunday due to the Winter Olympics.? Pretty The HQ streams will not get around accessing local sport due to rights issues.? Sure the Trek will not handle the HQ feeds.

Its looking like the Milestone may become the favoured internet radio and player for vI people in the UK.? the dealer selling it here has been misleading in implying the trek does not do Blue Tooth (and) Wi-Fi, which we all know isn't true.

so, any thoughts?? Anyone hearing of a Trek replacement
