So, here we go again. Connecting the VR Stream to Wi-Fi This is how it works for me. Apologies if I tell people things they already know. 1. Turn on your Victor Reader Stream. 2. Press the round button in the middle at the top. This switches between offline and online mode. If you are in Online Mode, it should say "Podcasts", or "References", or "Internet Radio". 3. If it says "Airplane Mode On" Press the button again for about 2 seconds. It should say "Airplane Mode Off". 4. Press 7 to access the menu. It should say "Menu, Wireless, Airplane Mode Off". 5. Press 8 twice. It should say "Scan for Available Connections". 6. Press Hash (the key to the right of 0). It should find the networks near where you are. At the moment I can see 2, one is ours and the other belongs to next door (I suppose). 7. Before saying the first name it says "SSID" and the name of the network. It then spells it out and says the signal strength. 8. Use 2 or 8 to find your network and press Hash. 9. It should say "Enter Password". Type in your password followed by Hash. If you have uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers in your password, use the Bookmark key (above the 3) to change case. 10. It should say "Enter a nickname for this network". I usually type in "Home", but you can call it what you like. Type in the nickname followed by Hash. It should say "Connected to" and the nickname you have just given it. 11. If all goes well, you should be connected to your wi-fi network. Press Star (the key to the left of 0) to leave the menu. I hope this works for you. Please bear in mind I am not an expert in this field. Following these instructions has just worked for me, and I don't know what happens if they don't connect. One thing to consider is that routers have 2 channels, 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. The stream will only work on the 2.4 Ghz channel. Some routers do not have this channel, so it won't connect. Good luck Pele |
