Praise God for His grace bestowed upon me,
How sad was the state I was in!
The burden of wrong has gone from my heart,
He cleanseth me now from all sin.

Oh, come, weary soul, and flee to the cross,
Cling closely to Jesus for refuge and rest;
The bondage of sin offers nothing but dross,
The foe has been conquered, trust God and be blest.
Oh, joy to my soul, my conscience is clear!
I’m glad for the change that is wrought;
When tempted and tried the angels are near
To bring me the strength I have sought.
Why carry a load that Satan would bring?
Oh, rest in the Lord with your care;
While saved by His grace the victory sing,
Whatever the burden you bear.
