Hello, We recently introduced test clocks for Stripe Billing, which offer powerful testing capabilities and dramatically reduce the need to keep test mode subscriptions indefinitely. We’re reaching out to provide a reminder about the new policy for test mode subscriptions. This policy was announced on November 16, 2022 and will be applied to all Stripe accounts as of February 1, 2023. As a reminder, here’s a summary of the policy: The data retention policy only impacts test mode subscriptions. We’ll automatically cancel test mode subscriptions 90 days after creation. We’ll automatically delete test mode subscriptions 30 days after cancellation. You can mark up to 50 test mode subscriptions as exempt in the Dashboard. We’ve updated our subscription testing guide to show how you can continue to test throughout the entire subscription life cycle. We’ve provided additional FAQs on our support site. Hello, We recently introduced test clocks for Stripe Billing, which offer powerful testing capabilities and reduce the need to keep test mode subscriptions indefinitely. Additionally, we’ve heard from users that test mode subscriptions are often created once and then rarely needed beyond a specific testing period. As a result, we’re rolling out a new policy for test mode subscriptions: Test mode subscriptions and subscription schedules will automatically be canceled 90 days after creation. Test mode subscriptions and subscription schedules (and their corresponding invoices) will automatically be deleted 30 days after cancellation. This policy will go into effect for Stripe accounts created on or after today. This policy will go into effect on Feb 1, 2023 for all Stripe accounts created before November 16, 2022. You will be able to mark up to 50 test mode subscriptions and subscription schedules total as exempt from this policy in the Stripe Dashboard. We realize the importance of test mode and the ability to test any subscription scenario throughout the entire subscription life cycle. To continue to support that functionality, we’ve also updated our testing guide to show how Billing test clocks can help you test subscription life cycles without having to wait for time to pass and provided a list of additional FAQs on our support site.
