Great work on updating D-rat’s ! Been testing v3.9 both Linux and Windows. It is awesome to see the the increase in users and activity.. I monitor a lot of weather information for our local Amateur radio community and have interest in providing alerts and current conditions. Many thanks for those that put in the time to get the current weather beacons available again. I have used the RSS QST options before utilizing the NWS RSS/CAP events . Is there anyway to increase the size of the RSS QST to handle the larger amount of Characters from the alert and is there anyway to allow a timed beacon of same rather than a change in status of the alert. Just adding a little to the pile! Thanks again for all that this group has done to keep D-rat’s in the front lines! 73’s Rick,N1RCW?

开云体育Hi N1RCW I add an issue to the tracker to investigate on the RSS text limit and if possible to extend it as well as to see is there anyway to allow a timed beacon of same rather than a change in status of the alert. ? ? Another problem I have noticed with the National Weather Service RSS feeds is that they used to be obtainable as straight text.? But a few years ago the NWS changed things around and the section labeled as (TEXT ONLY) actually delivers a product in HTML format.? Since D-Rats does not work with HTML files, these RSS feeds no longer work.? My workaround is to obtain the text only by copying and pasting from either the RSS site or through my NWSchat feed from our local weather service office.? I save it to a simple .TXT file on my desktop and have a QST set up to display the contents of that file every 60 minutes.? I go back and change the text as the new advisories come out or just discontinue the QST when the information is no longer relevant.? If you notice, the emails will not display HTML either.
If you are a SKYWARN group member or with Emergency Management in some capacity, you may have access to NWSchat in your area.? Access is granted to specific individuals through the local weather service offices.? Be careful if you get this.? Certain products displayed on NWSchat are not for public release and you could lose your access if you redistribute it.? Other items, such as the public advisory releases, are free to distribute.? You can always go to the NWS RSS Feed site at??to obtain the information on the latest advisories and storm bulletins for your given area.
