COM Ports Not Displayed in D-Rats

Hello,

I installed D-Rats earlier this evening and am a bit perplexed. I have an IC-7100 connected to my PC - COM ports 6 and 7. I know the COM ports work as I've been using this radio with Winlink, WSJT-X, fldigi, and Ham Radio Deluxe - all without issues.

The COM ports associated with the IC-7100 are the only two that do not appear in D-Rats. The IC-7100 was originally configured to use COM 14 and COM 15, but I thought D-Rats couldn't address COM ports above COM 9, so I re-mapped them from COM 14 and COM 15 to COM 6 and COM 7.

Yes - I've restarted the computer, and I've restarted D-Rats.

Any thoughts as to what's going on?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure why this happens, but it happens to me as well. I'm able to get around it by typing in the port number (COM28 in my case)in the box instead of selecting from the drop down

Ron WB3ILX,
I have found that installing a usb isolator on the radio usb cable does 2 things, one is it prevents from blowing out the usb port on the radio and providing you always turn on the radio about 5 seconds before the computer it gives the radio time to completely set up. ?Fldigi will sometimes not release the port and every once in awhile another program like WSJT-DX will do the same thing but all have to is restart the computer. ?I have both a 7300 and 7100. ?It also does it on my FTDX-5000 but to protect your usb interface please install a USB voltage isolator. ?They are about $40 from Amazon and you need one for each line do not use one for all ports for all the ports as it can’t handle the current load.

Drats only uses one comport. ?Type would be name exp. ( Icom 7100A), type serial, com port 6, baud 19200. ?Baud rate in radio should always be at max and not on auto. ?Try these settings.

You can also interface FLdigi with DRATS but you must turn on FLdigi first then DRATS. ?Then type your information into the DRATS program and FLdigi will transmit the information in whatever mode you have selected in FLdigi.
