Re: COM Ports Not Displayed in D-Rats
You can also interface FLdigi with DRATS but you must turn on FLdigi first then DRATS. Then type your information into the DRATS program and FLdigi will transmit the information in whatever mode you

Re: COM Ports Not Displayed in D-Rats
Drats only uses one comport. Type would be name exp. ( Icom 7100A), type serial, com port 6, baud 19200. Baud rate in radio should always be at max and not on auto. Try these settings.

Re: COM Ports Not Displayed in D-Rats
Ron WB3ILX,
I have found that installing a usb isolator on the radio usb cable does 2 things, one is it prevents from blowing out the usb port on the radio and providing you always turn on the radio

Re: COM Ports Not Displayed in D-Rats
I'm not sure why this happens, but it happens to me as well. I'm able to
get around it by typing in the port number (COM28 in my case)in the box
instead of selecting from the drop

COM Ports Not Displayed in D-Rats
Hello,
I installed D-Rats earlier this evening and am a bit perplexed. I have an IC-7100 connected to my PC - COM ports 6 and 7. I know the COM ports work as I've been using this radio with Winlink,

Hi John
I think you did an exceptional progress and off course version 0.4.0

Creating a 0.4.0 version?
Maurizio and all,
Are we ready to mark a 0.4.0 version of D-Rats?
Next I think I would want to work on improving the configuration GUI.
what I would have in mind is that for some settings like

Re: Windows install Wiki updated for a simpler option.
It is possible that you have firewall rules on the Microsoft Windows system that is blocking traffic. Look for that first.
The defaults are mostly the same as for python2 based d-rats, and none of

Re: Windows install Wiki updated for a simpler option.
Dear John,
I found the problem with the installations, my anti-virus program. I
paused it and got a complete installation this morning. D-Rats 3.10.10 is
up and running. However, it isn't on the

Re: D-Rats on RF has met its demise here.
I don't know how DV data will be allowed on HF because even the new proposal is 2.4KHZ bw. Even if they increase the baud rate. Voice I've been on before. Kind of a novelty, I think.
While the low

Re: D-Rats on RF has met its demise here.
Respectfully, check the emission designator for D-STAR DV. It is 6K00F7W which is 6 KHz per Icom specs. On every D-STAR transmission the baud rate (voice, data or both is 4800 bps. That doesn’t

Re: Inconsistent CQCQCQ responses
6 KHz is OK for voice on HF but not data. Check Part 97 FCC. Also there is that 300 baud limit at the moment. So no to DStar data on HF.

Re: D-Rats on RF has met its demise here.
Not according to Dan Smith, the guy who wrote it. I have been looking at anything I can find on Drats for years now. Dan's comments go back a long time... Before he stopped working in Drats.

Apparently not per the spec. Drats uses its own protocol.

Re: D-Rats on RF has met its demise here.
Doesn’t DV data also break the transmission into packets whether radio or network? But yes, smaller packet size should improve transmission.
