D-RATS Download
I am trying to download the program <d-rats-daily-02232012-installer.exe> from the files section? on here and have been unsuccessful. I thought maybe it was a computer trouble of some sort so I changed computers and found that it does not download to any of them. Is there another source to grab a copy of the program? 73 de w8nsi/nnn0uzw jim ? |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI don't have one specific for CentOS, but you're welcome to use my Fedora rpm: I think it should work. Mike, N0SO On Feb 27, 2015, at 5:44 PM, John Davis wb4qdx@... [d-rats_group] <d-rats_group@...> wrote:

Re: Fusion radios
Hi Dave, Thanks for that info. I also know a few folks in my club that have fusion radios, so I will be hitting them up for some knowledge. Maybe I will get a chance to experiment with one of theirs'. Thanks, Patrick (N3TSZ) From: "David Ranch dstar@... [d-rats_group]" To: d-rats_group@... Hello Patrick, I think it was me saying "it should work" but that's not really useful is it?? Anyway, I DID try sending data to my FT1D via the included SCU-19 cable but it didn't do anything.? When I did change the 9APRS -> 17COMPORT to either "GPS" or "WAYPOINT", I would see on the computer the expected GPS NEMA strings or APRS Posits/Objects/etc strings.? Beyond that, I never found any other YSF specific radio settings for data transport.? Thinking it could be a cable thing: ? - The manual talks to upgrading the FT1DR via the SCU-18 cable.? I was successful in upgrading it with the SCU-19 as well so I think these two parts are equivalent ? - Looking at their description of the other data cable "CT-170", that one seems to be the same serial data as seen via the SCU-19 cable but just not translated into USB ? - The only other mention in the manual for "data communications" is when the camera mic is used.? That's controlled under 11Option ->USB camera If the camera mic does something unique here to put the radio into DW (Data WIDE) mode, it's not mentioned in the manual.? I also don't find any language in the manual that's similar to Dstar's "Data TX --> Auto" and what not and there isn't any information in the Yaesu System Fusion standards doc either.? It seems to me that we need to reverse engineer what the camera mic does first to see if that's USB or RS232 data and what actually happens to understand more. Ps.? Does anyone know what is the technical name of this 11-pin connector that the FT1D is using?? I hope it's not 100% proprietary. --David KI6ZHD |

Re: Yum repository available?
I don't know if the repository is there, or not. But I do know that it had version 0.3.3. Here is a link the the latest daily build for Linux:
You have to install it manually. Here's how: Unpack the tarball Open a terminal window and move to the directory where you unpacked the files At the command line type: sudo python setup.py install You may get a message saying it was not installed because some items are missing. Python is not part of the CentOS distro and will have to be installed before D-RATS. I hope this helps. Patrick (N3TSZ) |
Fusion radios
Has anyone tried D-RATS on a Fusion radio? The operators guide is vague on connecting a computer to the radio. The only references to it I can find on the internet say "it should work". The manual mentions menu 9APRS -> 17 COMPORT to set it up for external data. If anyone has anymore information about this, I would like to know about it.
Thanks, Patrick (N3TSZ) |

Re: Need Help With Icom ID-51
It sounds as if you are sending data, but the first part is missing. First, disable power saving in your radio. Then go to preferences in D-RATS. Under Transfers, enable "Remote File Transfers". Set Warmup Length to 16. Set Warmup Timeout to 0. This will add a delay after the transmitter comes on and before the data is sent. I hope this helps. ? Patrick (N3TSZ) From: "bobmoore1954@... ?
I was trying to chat with a station today through a repeater. ?He was direct into the repeater, I was linked via a DV Mega hotspot. ?On my radio, I had GPS turned disabled and DV Data Tx set to auto. ?On the DV Mega, I had it configured to enable D-Rats. The other station was an Icom 880. I could receive his text just fine. ?But on his end, he could only see my text when the D-Rats program 'raw text' box was selected. ?The text was highlighted in yellow and was preceded and followed by gibberish and something like [EOB]. So we're getting close...but not quite there. ?Can someone give advice please?
