If you need to keep your internet connection alive, simply send a
location
report every ten minutes. It will not print any text in the chat window.
I need to figure out how to do that. The QST workaround was suggested to me by Dan Smith, but it was mainly to verify what the issue was.
As I had left the QSTs on before with no one mentioning that they were excessive or disrupted, I did not realize the impact.
I was not aware that the location report could be used as an alternative. I do not know if the ISP kill timer will allow 10 minutes of idle. I will have to test that out.
