I think you are using your LAN IP address, not your WAN IP address. A LAN IP can be fixed (static) which only means when you reboot your router that device gets the same internal IP address. That has nothing to do with your WAN IP address, which is what you need. That is the real IP address your router is using to reach the internet. As I'm sure you know, most ISPs give you a dynamic address...they can change it from time to time and often do. A static IP address often costs more. You can also get one free from a number of services that you can route through. A static IP address is beneficial to an internet asset (like a ratflector) so other people can find it in the same place all the time. Otherwise, it can work, but you may have to give everyone your current IP address frequently.?

Yours will be totally different and unique. Anything with 192.168.xxxxxx is a local address only on your own LAN.?
