Re: Winlink e-mail from my mobile through my base station?

Jack and all,

When you refer to the "server side of Winlink" are you suggesting that RMS Packet or one of the other components could pick up the messages and deal with them appropriately?

Our club bought into D-STAR several years?ago for EmCOmm purposes and I am heavily?into using Winlink for our club and would love to be able to bring in the digital side of D-STAR thru D-RATS and into Winlink. I have tried many of the configurations within D-RATS, but struggled to get it working properly. I do run a local Winlink RMS system running RMS Packet and RMS Relay, but cannot yet understand how to set up D-RATS to "talk" to that system.

I know that on the?Winlink website they also talk about D-STAR as one of the transports of?data,?but I?never see any configuration info.

Has anyone done this successfully?

This would mean my mobile/portable/field operators running D-RATS could use the D-STAR radios we spent lots of money on and still link into Winlink systems.

We also have a D-STAR repeater which would get so much more use if I could get this working.

So if my base is connected to the internet, and base radio, running the repeater software, it won’t pass the message to winlink from my mobile?
disappointing.
Thanks!
