Winlink does
not have D-RATS in the session dropdown mode selector.
However, the D-RATS application (which is also similar to an email client) has many of the necessary ICS forms and allows similar functionality as Winlink.
You’ll have to experiment with the D-RATS application, we did.
The nice part is the simplicity of connecting the laptop (with D-RATS application) to the DSTAR radio. Your ID-5100 manual explains it. I generally use an IC-91AD for D-RATS.
related comment: when monitoring DSTAR voice while a laptop is connected to that DSTAR radio and running D-RATS application, you will often see D-RATS traffic/text during those voice transmissions. We sometimes coordinate the D-RATS text using voice while sending the text.

It is my understanding (and I could be wrong) that D-Rats does not communicate directly with winlink via RF.?
I don't have a signal link or similar device, so I want to use D-Rats to send winlink e-mails.?
