Spacer too short and hole in the box
7
Hello I assembled my ADX-S V2 yesterday. I realized that the spacers between the between the base board and the lower board are too short. The BNC socket is too high, about 2mm distance is missing The hole in the box was created by the corners of the circuit boards The transportation to Germany was apparently too heavy Greetings Bernd DL3BLA

CQ-DL CPK-3 article and order fulfillment
Guys, A few days ago Matt surprised me that he published a two page article about CPK-3 named World Receiver in a Match Box on CQ-DL, the amateur radio magazine in Germany. It is so popular that I have to work hard last weekend to fulfill the orders from Germany. Good news is I have shipped all earlier today. Thanks Matt for the article and the support from Germany. I hope you enjoy the minimalist world receiver kit. Thanks, Adam

ADX-S V2: Bluetooth no signal?
3
Guys, Two customers reported the same issue, and I think it is better to write a message here. If you can pair the Bluetooth module with your smartphone but you cannot send or receive signal, you probably forget to connect the audio in and out - PA0 and DACL. These two pins are not in the 4-pin header. Instead they are on the PCB side. I write becase I know you don't read Assembly Manual :p BTW, if you cannot trigger TX, you should increase the Bluetooth volume to the max. No worries about over driving it. Thanks, Adam

Dummy Load placement?
2
How would I connect a 50 ohm dummy load in place of the LPF? Do I just connect it from the live end of the 12 turn inductor via a .01 capacitor? Are any other caps needed? Thanks, Jack

ADX-S V2!
22
Guys, Please treat this message as the formal announcement to the worldwide. ADX-S V2 is now ready to take big volume orders. Actually I already shipped a big box to a builders' group in Europe earlier today. I live near a big park in Shanghai and I operate ADX-S a lot in the park. With the popularity of FT8CN and iFTx Apps, I realized that I must design for the mobile devices for field digital modes operation. That's why I have added features like TCXO, Audio Cable Adapter and Bluetooth Module. RX modifications are incorporated in the V2 hardware so you can easily toggle ATT while you are suffering from strong BCI. Band module automatic detection and TCXO addition make the setup and alignment much easier. In most of the occasions, you can save the frequency calibration and band setting. Hate toroids winding like me? Now you just need to wind 11 toroids instead of 21 to support 7 bands. Hate desoldering the Arduino Nano module? Low profile sockets are provided in the kit so you can easily replace if necessary, and meanwhile keep the total height to fit in the original plastic box. Photos? They look the same as the ADX-S. Only difference is the main board. The price is 89 USD including tracked air shipping. Please place order through the web store at: http://crkits.com The assembly manual, schematic, part list, source code, and firmware update tools are now available for download from: /g/crkits/files/ADX-S/V2 You are welcome to spread the word to your local group or club. Third party review videos will be available soon and I will let you know the link. Thanks, Adam

ADX-S mod for use with trusdx-audio
39
I modified ADX-S for use with "trusdx-audio" which is used for (tr)uSDX digital mode. Both audio and CAT are sent and received via serial communication, so only one USB cable is needed to connect to the PC. The modifications to the motherboard consisted of adding an LM386 audio IC and two capacitors. The firmware needs to be changed, and "trusdx-audio" by threeme3 (PE1NNZ) needs to be installed on the PC. More information can be found at https://github.com/je1rav/ADX-S_trusdx-audio/ I am very sorry, but the document is written in Japanese. Please use a language translator like DeepL. JE1RAV

Can I upgrade ADX-S V1 to V2?
Folks, Someone asked me this question. The answer is yes and no. If your V1 kit is not yet assembled, it is pretty easy to obtain an upgrade kit from CRKITS.COM and do the upgrade, as most of the V1 parts can be shared. You can keep 7 band filters with minor rework. If your V1 is already assembled, it is not easy to fully upgrade to V2. The most difficult part is the band auto detection. However, you still can upgrade TCXO, Audio Cable Adapter kit, and Bluetooth module if you wish. If you are interested, please let me know. If you have no idea about V1 and V2 yet, please visit: /g/crkits/files/ADX-S /g/crkits/files/ADX-S/V2 Thanks, Adam
