Re: Holiday project
Guys,
I made another simple project, a regenerative receiver to cover 7-16 MHz. The specialty of this circuit is that a readily available shielded coil is used. The original is FCZ series, while my

Re: D4D receive light only activates during transmit
Steve,
A local ham also encountered a similar problem. It does light on when the radio is powered on, although the LED is reversed. The explanation could be something like RF signal

Rewind your Mini Wire Antenna
Folks,
There is a thread in an EFHW antenna Facebook group talking about our Mini Wire Antenna. K1RF Steve pointed out one thing that 2T:14T might not be good for a small size toroid, and it is

Steve,
Apparently your green LED is polarity reversed.

I saw your good soldering at a? glance.?
But usually this view deceived us. Check everything again.
Strange. I recommend check out voltages during this status. Then you will find out

Re: D4D receive light only activates during transmit
Anyone have any ideas? Thinking I need to start by testing the transistors and work out from there.

Re: Operation under emergency conditions
Hi LU7DID,
If you really need to work at 5V, it is recommended to replace 78L05 by a LDO type 5V regulator.
For the TX amplifier, the output can be as low as 100-200mW if you power with 5V. You can

Operation under emergency conditions
Adam,
In a bare bones emergency situation to which extend the D4D works with a high capacity 5V pack as it's sole power supply? (assume connectors worked out properly).
?Does the D4D work with less

Re: D4D
My solution is a dual output (12 and 5V) Li-Ion battery pack similar size of D4D. Let me know if you guys are interested as it needs special shipping. The freight is higher.
Thanks,
Adam

Re: D4D
I just picked up a 12 volt lithium ion battery pack from Amazon it is rated at 12 volt 11000 mAh. The size is just a little bit bigger then the D4D.
The battery comes with charger connecting cables.
