Re: CPK3 Receiver
Adam, would you tell us what the third column for CPK-3 means in the chart?? Usually it reads 50 Khz, 100, 1, 5, 9 etc??? Thanks. Wayne On Thu, Jan 11, 2024 at 9:59?PM Adam Rong <rongxh@...> wrote:

Re: CPK3 Receiver
开云体育Thanks for sharing the case idea, Wayne. It took too long to ship during the holiday season perhaps because people have ordered too many gifts directly from China. I hope it will be better soon. Thanks, Adam 在 2024年1月12日,12:51,Wayne Steury <waynesteury@...> 写道:

CPK3 Receiver
I received my CPK3 in the mail after five weeks. I am not sure why it took so long; maybe because of holidays around the end of the year. All the parts were there and I assembled it. It worked the first time and for the few parts it’s pretty amazing. I found a snack, plastic box at Family Dollar store. The box cost less than one dollar and was easy to use to mount the radio since it is plastic and easy to drill. The pictures below do not show the SMA connector and the extended antenna.? I have been experimenting with using different resistors for my favorite band. I am especially interested in the short wave bands. The AM and FM broadcast bands work very well. I use a battery operated amplifier for listening in the speaker connection. ?73’s N9EGT Wayne? |
Re: What’s CPK-4? FORget that , look at Taurus Rx design.
Adam instead of mucking around with? it works but it produces cruddy audio but at least? an 8 yr old an? put it together designs .

Why not? get a version of the Taurus SSB /CW rx monobander sorted out . it will work ONLY with? the MC3362 and since it is varactor tuned it will wander. However the Audio it will produce in SSB Mode is commercial quality.? it basically needs the chip,? a? BPF using two slug tuned coils ,? 3 xtals well matched at 10 Mhz for the IF,? a? BFO xtal and some audio system.? The base design has agc included. RF agc . There is one vendor selling it for? about 26 USD out of? India.? He sells only one frequency. These have really superior? sensitivity too.? The original design is Polish I think. It's easy to find on the internet. if you can't find it , email me. With a bit of work and some? switching you could have stackable RF decks and a? parent board that has one RF band plus the audio amp.? If sold without the speaker it's easily possible to kit it and make a profit at around USD 22 I would have thought. ? Timothy E. Fidler : Engineer BE Mech Auckland?

Re: What’s CPK-4?
One possibility could be an option where the oscillator is permanently on and only the PA is keyed.? That could allow use with a CPK-3 receiver or others that don't have their own BFO.? You will however need to provide some form of frequency offset, eg by switching in extra capacitance in the crystal oscillator circuit. The CAL switch could even be used for that if rewired.? This is an example of me doing similar.? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGBvJZx69uI ? |
Re: CPK-3 Radio for 27/28 MHz
Thanks for the suggestions! Regarding the BFO, I use a simple generator for brief testing of some receivers. It is an antenna analyzer and can be seen at . I also received the kit and I think I will install it at the weekend. After that, I will do some tests and come back. 73! Re: CPK-3 Radio for 27/28 MHz
As for SPAN control, Kelivin-Varley Voltage Divider was found to be worked well. I was checked the frequency range of all 60-bands with this voltage divider. The schematic is attached (sorry in Japanese).

Re: HC 49 Computer Grade Crystals
开云体育Bob,Please let me know the specs. If you customize 100 pcs, the price will be a bit high. Thanks, Adam 在 2024年1月11日,11:04,Bob Gass via groups.io <n4fv@...> 写道:

HC 49 Computer Grade Crystals
Adam, Do you have a source for 100 pc lots of custom frequency HC49 computer grade crystals? Before Covid I had a supplier who would make them in that quantity but now all the manufacturers I have contacted won't do less than a couple thousand and that would be a several lifetimes supply for me. What’s CPK-4?
开云体育I think it will be a 200mW CW transmitter and it will work with any SSB receiver you have on hand, including those Tecsun PL330, 365, 880, 990 and etc. I will ask for permission from the designer in Japan first.See the prototype on my Choc board. Thanks, Adam |
Re: VK3YE just reviewed CPK-3 KT Receiver
开云体育Hi Peter, Nice video, nice box. Here is another totally customized radio by
a domestic customer. CPK-3 KT Receiver is good enough to be the
core module of your customized radio. Thanks, Adam On 2024/1/7 15:55, Peter Parker wrote:
