Add a small shipping charge
Guys,
I will update the price to add a small shipping charge to compensate the stronger CNY over USD. If you purchase more than 1 pcs of the same model, the shipping charge will not increase. It helps save a bit if you purchase together with your friend. Thanks for your understanding. It will be effective in the following days around Oct. 7. The web store is: Thanks, Adam |

ADX-S V2 Supply Voltage Question
Hello Adam,
?
The documentation for the ADX-S DC Vin says the barrel connector (on the rear) has an acceptable voltage range of 10-12 volts, with 12.6 volts being absolute maximum. ?I presume the upper limit is recommended to keep from quickly overheating the BS-170 MOSFET's and prevent damage to the Vin pin on the Arduino Nano.
?
But why isn't the acceptable lower voltage limit less than 10 volts?
?
I ask because the minimum recommended voltage for the Vin pin on the Arduino Nano is only 7 volts, and even 6 volts is still supposed to be acceptable for operation. ?I looked over the schematic and don't see any components that require a minimum of 10 volts. ?Since we can operate the entire ADX-S using only 5 volts when via the micro-USB connector on the Arduino Nano, so I don't understand why there's a 10 volt lower limit specified for the barrel connector on the rear of the ADX-S.
?
Am I missing something?
?
Thank you,
?
John

Re: 2 CPK-4 plus an AM radio make a complete station
My 20 m version of CPK – four is working great. I made my first contact (650 miles) with a good report. I was using a 9 V battery with a 2N2222 as the final (Q2) with my dipole at 10 feet.? Wayne F. Steury, N9EGT? On Tue, Oct 1, 2024 at 8:35?AM Adam Rong via <rongxh=[email protected]> wrote:

开云体育Hi Matt, What is the current consumption? If it is around 160 mA, it is not necessary to add the heat sink if you don't key it for a long period of time. Thanks, Adam 在 2024/9/30 21:18, mweidle@... via

Re: 2 CPK-4 plus an AM radio make a complete station
开云体育Matt,Thanks for the report. What power supply was used for almost 1 watt output? I would remind it is quite hot if you run at 12V. Actually QSO explains everything. 384km is not bad. It is possible to contact DX of 1500km range if you build and operate the 20m band CPK-4. Thanks, Adam 在 2024年9月30日,04:09,mweidle@... via groups.io <mweidle@...> 写道:

Re: 2 CPK-4 plus an AM radio make a complete station
Hi Adam,
?
today I finished my CPK-4 for 40m. Almost 1 Watt Power Output. I Used an internet KIWI receiver nearby my QTH (about1okm away from my home) to listen to my transmittings of the tiny tx. Also I used the reverse beacon page to see, where my signals were heared. On 7.030 MHz I answered a cq calling station from Italy (IK3WUZ, 384km away). I got a 559 report. Wow first QRPP QSO with this small wonder.

Commercial AM receivers can be upgraded by adding a beat oscillator (BFO) for carrier recovery. 73! Costin, ?n dum., 29 sept. 2024 la 13:07, Peter Parker via <parkerp=[email protected]> a scris:

CPK-3 FB (ferrite bead)
I just received my kit today.? I also ordered off the internet a couple of the KT0936MB9 IC's to build the radio from scratch.? I'm stuck on the ferrite?bead.? I understand what it does as I have built several Regenerative radios and they use a RF choke.? I assume?this is the same principle.?? I want to order a few of the ferrite?beads but I can not find any information on the size/value of the bead to be able to order it.? All other parts I can find.? Please can someone give me the value or links to order some of the same ferrite?beads in the CPK-3 kit. Also can you buy the PCB separately??? Thank you very much! Ron Heikes |

开云体育Thanks for the demostration video, Peter. I suppose you use one TX instead of two, so you cannot hear side tone while in TX. Thanks, Adam 在 2024/9/27 21:16, Peter Parker via

2 CPK-4 plus an AM radio make a complete station
Guys,
CPK-4 can work with a SSB receiver to make a complete station. If you just have an AM radio receiver, you can consider 2 CPK-4. Photo: Take 7030 kHz as an example, you can tune your AM radio receiver to 7030 first. You can use the whip antenna or a separate wire antenna. You should hear no CW signal. Power up one CPK-4, set the jumper to GND and fune tune the trimmer capacitor to keep it oscillating at 7030.7 kHz. Adjust the distance between this CPK-4 and the AM radio receiver to receive some signal. If you put them too close, the AGC will suppress the incoming signal too much, so you should put a bit far away so you can hear the signals in some background noise. Now, you can power up another CPK-4 as TX. Set the jumper to KEY, fine tune the trimmer capacitor so you can transmit on 7030 kHz and connect a dedicated resonant antenna for TX. Now, it is ready to grab some QSOs! Thanks, Adam |
Re: Testing RX-888 MK2 High Performance SDR
Yeah, sorry Adam.? My CRKits money for the next couple of months went to ordering one of these.? The Tech Minds has a very good video on this device on YouTube. I have a remote location that I want to leave this at so it probably will solve an ongoing problem for me hopefully.
?
I will let the group know what I think a week or two after I get one if you think it's appropriate.?
?
It's a fusion of a Red Pitaya clone (duo), a RX-888 mkII and a KiwiSDR... Runs all the KiwiSDR extensions of openwebrx except for tdoa and HF-DL at this time. So yes, it can be a full hf band skimmer for WSPR, FT4 or FT8.? Does 13 channels will ALL of them supporting waterfall. It's interesting and it is a good price for that horsepower.? ?Can also be used as a GPSFO and as long as it has a GPS antenna it will self discipline the frequency stability.?
?
Just researching all of this will take you down a rabbit hole.? However it's very educational.?
?
Aliexpress US tells me it should be here before October 2, but unfortunately I trust them as far as I can throw them.? I really wanted one so I lifted my ban on Aliexpress.?
?
I am still looking for a URL of a publically hosted Web-888. I will share it if I find one.?
