Routing issues with control protocol cp3/nvx d30 3
So I have a cp3 controlling a group of nvx boxes, to isolate some issues i was having with flickering i moved all the nvx to their own vlan and subnet(that's still not fixed but I'll address that in another thread some day) I have the switch doing l3 routing, so no firewall or acls in between blocking traffic, and all devices can ping each other d30 to cp3 and vice versa, all good there, same issue on d30 and a lot of 350s the ip-id won't go online, it worked perfectly fine when in the same subnet cp3@ 10.0.10.x(/24) nvx@ 10.0.19.x(/24) My question is, is there a setting I have to set on the processor to let routed devices connect? This almost seems like it has to be something config wise since they can ping each other

Audible Ring out on TSW 6PL 6
Hi guys, I need some old takers wisdom on this. setup: Bpt door bell connects to crestron via sip (I think) and the audio and video gets distributed to crestron touch panel 6PL via C2N-IADS30X24 and C2N-IVDS24X24. At the moment, there¡¯s no audible ring out from the crestron panels only the Bpt panel rings out. But on the crestron panels, the intercom subpage comes up and you can answer the call and open the gate etc. How do I set the audible ring out to ring when someone presses the door bell? Any help is appreciated.

TCL 98" Android/Google TV - Control? 4
Has anyone had any luck with these TVs and getting discrete control? I have the ability to use HDMI-CEC, LAN, or IR control, but need to know if there is a solution I should pursue which others have found to be reliable. I have tried HDMI CEC standard on off commands of \xE0\x04 and \xE0\x36 without any luck. I am getting a constant response of \x04\x83 from the TV itself, so it does look like it is there, just don't know what it will respond to. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Samsung Frame TV (again) 9
Hate to beat a dead horse here¡I know that these have been discussed ad nausea. Has anyone had any experience with the 32¡± model Samsung Frame TV? I¡¯ve had pretty good results with all of the other models via Ex-link but for some reason the 32¡± model cannot be turned on. All the other commands in use on other Frame models work fine except for the power on command. I thought I had it solved as it responded to WOL but after a short while that also stops working. The IP module also gives the same results¡works fine then will no longer power on. Something is going to sleep and it seems to be specific to the 32¡± model. Also, on a slightly different note, the Samsung IP 1.3 from the store has that Newtonsoft requirement that was a ¡°thing¡± recently¡any fix for that?

Projector module issue with CP3 but not with MC3 10 #programming #simpl #simplwindows #cp3 #crestron
Hello, Here's my issue: I have an old ViewSonic PRO-8100 connected via RS-232 (port 2) which controlled the power off & on, showed me the lamp hours on my touch panels (Projector on...Lamp hours: 105) through a user module when the MC3 was connected (which I still have). Now I have a CP3 installed and the message on the touch panel says Projector on...Lamp Hours: 0 but the power off & on still functions (still RS-232 port 2), so the CP3 isn't seeing the lamp hours information. Is there a difference in the way that the serial ports receive data between the MC3 and the CP3? Donald

Password reset for DM XIO DIR-80 5
I know these are not the most respected pieces of hardware. I picked one up from surplus and finally got around to playing with it. I can access it through toolbox but I don't have the username and password. It has the 2.0 firmware. The default admin/admin does not work. A hard reset only resets the DHCP. I have been checking around and there doesn't seem to be a way to do a hard reset. The other NVX units have at least a process albeit long one to do a hard reset (11 times pressing reset). Someone on Reddit says there is a way to through a USB drive. I don't have access to that program. Any thoughts? I know there will be a lot of folks that say it is not worth the trouble.

CHV Tstats and RTS/RTHS sensors 3
Hi All, I have a site with some CHV stats, most with RTS/RTHS remote sensors. We think that we have seen issues with display offsets. We had set offsets ~ 1-2 year ago to compensate for variances. The MBath unit had a 6 degree offset. unfortunately, the client went thru the winter with uncomfortable environment, and now we find that we need to eliminate the 6 degree offset to make thing right. We're sure that our setting were correct when we did the offsets. Have any others seen the remote sensors need offsets and then have the system need to revert back to no offset? TIA!

TSR-310 Wifi Connections 15
Hi All Is there a way to REMOTELY (VPN) change which SSID a TSR is connected to? I've looked in Console help, the ToolBox function list and the web page. Could it actually be that Crestron expects me to drive 3.5 hours one-way to change the SSID on a remote??? (Probably...:( ) TIA

Sonos integration help
Recently my Sonos port and connect required a reset to factory settings. While the Sonos connect no longer displayed on our touch panels, the Sonos port would. We kept the Sonos connect because we rarely listen to two different stations in our home and we already owned it, so we use the Port as our main player and the connect as a back up. after resetting the units to factory default, Crestron Home cannot connect to them. It seems them on the network but gives me an error in diagnostics that the ¡°desired household is not found¡±. I see the household name on the diagnostic screen in the Cresteon home App. However I do not know how to reset the name either on the Sonos or the Home app so they match I deleted the connect from my devices thinking I could just rescan and add it back, but the Home App will not allow me to add the connect. I have been reluctant to remove the SonosPort because even though I can¡¯t see it on the touch panel and the panel states it¡¯s ¡°offline¡± I am able to listen to my sonos in my house because I just control the Sonos with the Sonos app on my phone I¡¯ve read the Cresteon Sonos troubleshooting guide which actually has this exact error in the document, but I am unable to reconnect the Sonos regardless any insight would be greatly appreciated. ty james

Crestron Procise PSPHD
Hello, I'd like to build a project to run on Crestron Go for Ipad to control Crestron Procise PSPHD. Does anyone here have a Crestron Procise PSPHD and Crestron Go on an Ipad to control? I've recently installed a Crestron Procise PSPHD in my home theatre. I have Toolbox, Simpl Windows, VT-Pro but not Smart Graphics or Flash. I have A RMC3 controller I can see the devices in Toolbox I've been advised there may be a template for the Procise PSPHD for VT-Pro to use for Crestron App and X-Panel. Does anyone know if this is true? With thanks

Send Email from PRO4/CP4? 3
Hello all, I have been using a Send mail V02 module on port 2525. But I am being told that port2525 is a security risk and the network guys we work with started blocking both 25 and 2525 so I need an alternate way to send emails to our team for things like high Temperatures. What are you guys using that is secure to send emails from a CP4/PRO4 ? Thank you, Jon

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
Garage overhead doors are a common entry point into a home for burglars. With this in mind, a smart garage controller that is integrated with an overall smart home, can provide both convenience and added security. My latest article looks at several smart garage door controller systems and their integration into the smart home. You can find the article here: https://restechtoday.com/integrating-modern-overhead-garage-doors-with-your-smart-home/ For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: https://restechtoday.com/author/jaybasen/ For these interested in even earlier content that I wrote, you can find it all here though older content has formatting issues due to a transfer from blogspot to wordpress. https://topicsinhomeautomation.wordpress.com/ Thanks

Doorbell C4 Chime Integrate or replace? Crestron Home 2
I am in the process of replacing some older Control 4 systems with Crestron Home using the CP4-R processsor and other goodies as required. One stumbling block is a few of these clients have the Control 4 video chime doorbell installed and the clients do not want to lose the integration with the distributed audio system as far as ducking and ringing through the audio distribution matrix. Does anyone out there have a recommendation on how to integrate the chime doorbell with Crestron Home and DM-NAX? If not, is there a replacement chime doorbell from another vendor that would? Thanks in advance.

Tracking active lobe in Shure MXA910 and MXA920 2
I searched this forum and couldn't find any info; forgive me if I missed it. We have used audio levels to trigger camera presets many times. Of course, discreet mics work pretty well for this, ceiling mics not so well. The Shure MXA mics seem to have the potential to make this simple, but I haven't found the secret yet. Viewing the lobes in Shure Designer, I can see that the correct/expected lobe is activated immediately - it appears to be flawless. But Shure's command strings don't offer a simple Get Beam Activated. Instead, they offer "Get X-Axis Beam Steering, Get Y-Axis, and Get Beam Height (Z-Axis), all measured in centimeters from the mic. I don't need, and can't use, this extreme level of detail and the resultant flood of signals to parse. Extron offers a way to pre-define a 3-dimensional cube by defining the X, Y, and Z coordinates of its imaginary diagonal corners in a space, and then notify me when the X, Y, Z coordinates being reported fall within a defined cube. This is a tedious and sometimes confusing process, but it seems to work. However, even then, I only get a notice that a zone has been activated; it does not report that the activation has ceased - which is a critical piece of information. It seems to me, though, that this requires me to re-invent the wheel, when that parsing and comparing of data points is clearly already happening within either the mic itself or the Shure Designer software, because I see the lobes firing (or highlighting) accurately in the software. It seems that when I drag a lobe to a specific coverage area, that is graphically defining the 3-dimensional space, and Shure is already calculating which lobe a given audio source falls in. Why not simply make that info available via command string? i.e. is a lobe active?... which one? Will someone please show me what a dolt I am, or possibly point me to a module or other useful solution?

SIMPL Module Input Signals 3
Is there any way inside a SIMPL module to know if any of it's input signals are connected in the root program? For example I have a module with 10 input signals and 10 output feedback signals. I want all of the feedback signals to go high at the same time but only for the signals that have connected inputs. Is this possible?
