What are Alexa Scenes in the Voice Control Room Lights module?

Can anybody tell me what the Scenes (LightScenes) are in the Voice Control Room Lights module? I it seems like it's an old feature of Alexa, and since I've never used it until now, it seems like I can't, if I haven't created scenes before now, right??

You can use them to trigger any lighting scene you have programmed, or anything really. Its just really an invocation phrase you can put whatever logic you want behind. Lighting scenes can also be done via Alexa Routines which allows you to creat them in the Alexa side and not modify the program. We always have a handful of lighting scenes for every room in our programs anyway so I just tie those to the Alexa Scenes.?

Refer to the "Voice Control: Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Josh.ai, TSW / TSR" article.

See the section titled "Amazon Alexa: Enabling Crestron Skills and Discovering Devices."
Note that "Alexa, ask/tell Crestron..." commands require the 2nd skill called "Crestron Home Automation" to be installed.

Then see the section titled "Default Voice Command Syntax for Controlling Devices" for verbiage used to recall the scenes.

  • Recall Scenes?- Alexa responds - "Recalling the <SCENE> in <ROOM>."
Use for custom commands - Drive SceneName$ signals from SIO/MSEND; can be changed during runtime.
    • "Alexa, ask/tell Crestron to recall <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "morning scene in kitchen")
    • "Alexa, tell Crestron I want to <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "unlock door in front entry")
    • "Alexa, tell Crestron I would like to <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "watch?a movie?in the family room")
    • "Alexa, tell Crestron it's time to <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "sleep in the bedroom")
++ Then see the section titled "Tips and Tricks."
Keep in mind that configuring custom Routines phrases in the Alexa side of things is often a better route.
Routines offer much more elegant and short simple phrasing, but SIMPL scenes offer more complex behaviors.

It's so long phrase.

I use Alexa Routines. For example, phrase (routine) "Alexa, hello!" start macros with voice greeting and execute some long command/commands.
