Videostorm IRUSB
Hi,
i?m working the in the residential / home cinema area and would like to integrate Amazon Fire-TV into Crestron.
I understood A dropped ADB-support and i came across the Videostorm IRUBS Dongle. It communicates via LAN with the control unit and sends keycodes via the USB-port to the FTV.
I ordered one for testing. In general it works (based on simple ASCII-commands via TCP client - i?m using a simple sio for that), but i?m experiencing hickups. The connect is dropping from time to time and then comes back. I need to look further into it.
By chance, does anyone have experience with the Videostorm IRUSB device? Or even a working Crestron module?
What i?ve read so far that the IRUSB device is reported to be rock solid, so i guess it?s an issue on my side.
Regards, Thorsten

I know the FLIRC, but using IR is exactly what i would like to avoid with using the IRUSB. Communication using the IRUSB is LAN-only.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIf all you¡¯re doing is sending keystrokes why not just use the USB HID port on the DM endpoint? That is one of the few things the port is truly useful for and doesn¡¯t require any extra hardware (save for, of course, the USB cable) ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? DM is not always available. But in case it is, that?s could be a good option, thanks.
