Older residential system - upgrade

I have a friend that purchased a house with an older Crestron System that wants to do a refresh.
Currently has the following
1. Cp2e?
2. CNX-BiPad8
3. TPS-4L (x3)
4. CNX-PVID8x3
5. Integra surround receiver
6. CEN-TRACK
?
Looking to simplify system by replacing all displays with SmarTV's that will be used with TV remote and as standalone. For house audio to add his existing Sonos to the CNX-BiPad8 along with the existing CEN-TRACK to allow for whole house music.
Remove the CNX-PVID8x3 and to replace the CP2e with either a CP4 or RMC4 paired with a CEN-IO-COM-102 for additional serial ports. Updating the programming in each TPS-4L even though they aren't SmartGraphic compatible this will keep cost down. Finally, add a Samsung Tablet or iPad
to theater for control and possibly add house music control to his iPhone to allow room source selection and control (as long as the Sonos interface to Crestron works well).
?
1. Any issue with using an older Sonos integration with Crestron?
2. Thoughts of using Android vs IOS for control? I didn't see Android in Simpl, unless Crestron GO is for either.
?

Sonos integration is very hit and miss. Works for a little while and then will just drop off. Stick to iOs for control, gets way more updates.

Thanks for the input.

The crazy part about the Sonos integration is that it was always half baked. The multi-player/zone control is/was there, but in terms of music slection - all you could ever do it select a preset number, which could be a playlist or live stream as set in Sonos app. I haven't touched a Sonos and never ever will since the v2 fiasco circa 2019, so things could be different now.?

No it's still the same, and it still sucks.?

I guess if following there official API is half baked, then it is half baked.

Yes it is annoying that it is only preset selection.

I only have sonos in a few projects. I have moved the modules to their own program that auto reboots a few minutes after the Sonos goes offline. After three reboot if it doesn't come online it reboots the outlet there Sonos is connected to.

They have mentioned recently in some of the CH webinars that there is more browsing capability coming to Crestron with regards to Sonos. I think now that the Sonos app on TSWs is fully dead they realized they need to get something that makes it more usable.?

So CH is the answer in their mind.? Wonderful.

We stopped spec'ing Sonos over a year ago (where's my $20k?? in lost revenue) and moved back to autonomic. They are definietly a better company to deal with as they actually understand integration and work to help us.
That said digital streaming music is a cluster, always a 'lord give, lord take' situation with these services.?
?
And I just had a client tell me he uses YouTube Music exclusively!...Ugghh..? Sonos apparently has this, but Autonomic doesn't...It never ends...
?
Does anyone else actually use YT music??

On the Sonos stand at ISE this year they had five touchscreens showing Sonos integration from five separate control systems; RTI, URC, Control4, another one I can¡¯t remember, and Crestron Home. Guess which was the only one that didn¡¯t yet have working Sonos search capability, but instead had an embarrassing message ¡°Sonos Search API coming Soon¡±?

@ckangis My house is a YT Music house and I have had a few clients that ask specifically for this. Most of my clients use Spotify or SXM- at least those are the things they alwasy ask us to setup. Michael at Autonomic keeps telling me its coming to MMS servers but doesnt seem to be moving fast.?

Yes, I traded emails with Michael the other day. They are actively working on getting YT Music, but I suspect it'll be 6-12 months+...
Yet again, the digital age moves at a snail's pace when you need it...:)

Please don't mention Sonos and Crestron in the same sentence. So many angry emails from clients and sleepless nights ugghhh.
