Lexicon MC-10

Is anyone familiar with this processor? Will the MC12 module work?

Tnx

The MC12 Module will probably not work with the MC10.? In fact, every version of the MC12 firmware requires a different protocol.? Some modules will read the firmware level and adjust the protocol.? But changing models most likely will not work.? But I would give it a try and see if it work.? You may be lucky,

Steve

I¡¯ve got a project with the MC-10 that we are just now beginning. We haven¡¯t received the MC-10 yet. I should be able to provide some information within the next couple of weeks.

Thank You,

Hi,
AFAIK the MC-10 has nothing in common with the MC-12, totally different platform. The MC-10 is basically based on Arcam (both part of Harman group). So i would rather expect an Arcam module to work than an MC-12 module.
Cheers, Thorsten

Yeah - the MC-12 was from about 19 years ago and Lexicon's own platform.

The MC-10 is more or less an Arcam AV860 in a different box, Logic7 added, and a few other minor feature tweaks.

The AudioControl Maestro module works for everything but inputs, I just ended up using IR for that.

How is the MC-10 as far as a processor? I¡¯ve never used it. This was chosen by the customer.?

Thank You,

Here is a link to the Protocol Document. ?I am creating my own module since the MC-8 is a complete different set of commands. ?So far, I am finding all the commands in the doc to be good.

A bit of off topic but why doesn't anymone make a pre/pro in 2U may be even 1U size?

Not enough room for all the connections on the back?? Even for just a 7.1 channel processor, by the time you add the analog outputs and a small number of HDMI inputs / outputs, you would quickly run out of space.

Cough Core 110f cough.?

There are MC-10 modules available. Got them from their site.? There is both an RS232 module and an IP module.? I installed one about 3 months ago.? FYI you can not simultaneously have the ethernet port available and control via RS232.? It is one or the other.? So if you plan on controlling via RS232 you will need to do the CAL before changing the control option.? I just switched the client to RS232 because the PRO2 stop controlling via IP for some reason.

LOL.? Could you even get all the XLRs on a 1U.

Edited

1. Who says it needs to have XLRs?
2. I said 1U or 2U
3. There is so many products and options that are 4U, with or without XLR. There are none in 2U or under that has all the current HDMI AV formats
and I am not even considering HDMI2.1.?

LOL

Man I feel dumb. ?How did I miss that module? I actually pulled the command protocol from the site and started building my own¡
