Cisco Room Device

I have some sage advice¡¡

Never try to control a Cisco room device with a non-native comm port.

Original config was VC4 with CEN-IO3-4 with com 3 card. I was getting very erratic behavior. Codec would not stay initialized.

Once I was able to obtain a CP4 with a native comm port, my troubles were over.

Anyone else had this problem?

I've run into that using 232 over a DMTX port with a Cisco code, but that was ages ago.?

I have used many Global Cache Flex adapters with serial cable from VC4 to multiple models of Cisco Room Devices with no issues. Funny thing is, the first time when I chose to use one, it was due to problematic communication from a Series 3 DMPS com port that would stop working after a time for unknown reasons. Connecting the GC via TCP/IP to the DMPS and then serial to the Cisco solved the problem.?
