Android Tablet: Can I Use Crestron Mobile?
Sorry, but I'm still not clear.
I have a client with an iPad, currently setup and working fine with Crestron Mobile. He wants to add an Android tablet. I have done projects fine with 2 or more iPads...can I simply add this Android tablet in as another "iPad" (as far as SIMPL and VtPro-e go?...it's not "iPad", but "Mobile"...) I saw R2 and would like to try at some point, but would like to wrap up a working Android today if I can using what I already have, just adding in another "iPad" to my programming and having him get the $99 Crestron Mobile App for Android on his tablet. I already told him to go to Android Market and get the app...:0 Thanks Mark |

Yes you can use the Crestron App on an Android, only issue you might run into is the screen resolution between iPad and Android. Pete --- In Crestron@..., "markcrestrongroup" <mark@...> wrote:

It's pretty much the same if the tablet is the same rez. If not(as in the case with my phone), the app scales. Although you could end up with buttons that are too small(as in the case with my phone). VTPro is kind of flaky changing page sizes in mobile for phones/tablets.

Also, they don't seem to be able to do the page flip effects as discussed in a previous thread. --- In Crestron@..., "markcrestrongroup" <mark@...> wrote:

FYI, Crestron Mobile *does* have page-flip animations. It doesn't have some of

the other stuff the previous poster was asking about, but there is an option to enable page-flip effects. --- On Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:31 AM, Ted wrote: |
Oh, your right Tony. When I originally tested it on my phone when it first came out, I was using the free version which doesn't support those effects. I haven't really messed with the paid version. My bad.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I get the whole resolution thing. I just wanted to be sure the process was the same i.e. I could load the xml/manifest into the processor HTML like I already have 1 of the iPads, and he (pretty tech savvy) could enter the proper parameters in the Android app (LAN, Ports, Project Name, Password, etc.)

Oh - I didn't realize the free version *didn't* have it. I've always used the
