Converting CP3-R to CP3
I'm quite sure that the FW the Answer ID references will only work with 3-series (CP3 specifically it seems). I'm sure that it's possible, but will Crestron provide this?...
Re: TSWs - the fact that there's a completely different SKU for the -r panels, and that they're MUCH cheaper than the one's we have to work to program, really upsets me - It's very prodigy-like... They have other apps that can be chosen thru the menu, why not 'HomeUI'... Not responses needed, just got triggered again...:) |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBambam_101 if you are on the Crestron Home facebook group, you could unload those CP4-R¡¯s pretty quick.? There are a lot of integrators looking for some. ? Pat M ? ? From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> on behalf of Bambam_101 <wiredhometechnologies@...> ? Wonder if this would work for cp4r? Have a bunch here that were incorrectly ordered but never returned.?? |

I notice the answer ID has been updated (6th December '22) and now states:
Pretty sure it originally gave instructions on reverting the change, which basically just involved downloading the latest CP3-R firmware and re-flashing. Why the change? If Crestron are worried that it somehow allows ANY CP3 to be (down)converted to a CP3-R, then so what? It's really p-ing me off that we can't change CP3 and MC4 and CP4 processors to the -R versions. We quoted for CH jobs and ordered MC4-R units back in Feb '22, but won't get those processors 'till Q4 '23 at the earliest. Needless to say, we've had to install with what we had, and that means the TSW-770-Rs we got delivered in July (for same jobs) are still sitting on the shelf, and spare RMC3, CP3 and CP4s we have?(that cost us a premium over the -R versions when originally purchased!) have had to be used, meaning custom programming (that wasn't accounted for in the original quote either). Converting to -R firmware would have saved us the programming AND allowed us to use the -R touchscreens we've bought and paid for, but Crestron aren't interested in helping us out. IMHO it would have been the least they could do, considering the clusterf**k they've left us dealers in. |
