can you help me here with this issue with master installer that true blue can't help

Hello, I have a new pc laptop and have installed MasterInstaller to manage all the Crestron files to keep them up to date.
I go through the steps and have the files identified to install. when I click download, I get the following error message: Error connecting to ftp.crestron.com XceedFtp.dll may not be registered properly I can't ?complete any downloads at this point and ?I have to force quit the MasterInstaller program. Reached out to Crestron True Blue support with no success. It appears to be a dll file that was not registered properly. any ideas here? thanks Stephen |
开云体育Did you install Master Installer as administrator / from the same user account that you’re trying to use it from? If not try that – right click on the installer EXE, “Run as Administrator” and if UAC prompts for credentials or permission enter the appropriate details. ? thanks for the suggestion. I have tried ?the as administrator ?and as a power user. My account on the computer is the only user and I have admin rights. From what I could tell, it appears the FTP service was not registered. if someone knows how I can register the service shown in the message, I would appreciate it. I have successful installs in the past, this one is still kicking me in the A@@ thanks Stephen |

I am presuming that you are running W10 ? It may be a Firewall issue. Go to Settings, Firewall and Network Protection, Firewall notification settings, manage notifications. Firewall and Network Protection Notifications, Notify me when windows blocks, set to on, and tick the 3 boxes below. Reinstall MI and see if you get any messages asking you to allow through firewall, which you should now agree to.

Have you tried downloading all the packages (SIMPL, DeviceDB, etc) individually, then disconnect from the internet, and install the software that way?? For SIMPL, you may need to download and install Net Frameworks Compact 3.5 from Microsoft before hand if it is not already installed on your computer.? The order you install Crestron software is important.? Start with the databases and end with SIMPL & VTPRO.
