Somfy SDN control via CP3

I am trying to fix an issue on an existing system with a CP3 and a Somfy SDN control via RS 485, we've troubleshooted all the paths of the signal and nothing seems to work from the CP3, but via RS485 from a laptop with the Somfy software the shades work. Any ideas what could be wrong? One weird thing is that i get \x00 back from Somfy on the 485 port RX.

On the CP3 you can only use port #1, Ground to Ground, TX to the 485 (-) and RTS to the 485 (+)

Do you have the correct wiring?

Yes wiring is correct, brown+white/brown on G, orange on TX, white/orange on RTS, with this pinout I get \x00 back via RX when I send any commands, when I flip orange and white/orange I get nothing back in RX, using the same cable directly to a USB-RS485 to the computer the shades work, just not thru the CP3

The last time I used them, the modules required at least one motor in them (I was only controlling groups). I added a dummy motor module to my program and then it was able to initialize and the shades worked.?

Can you send me the string you are sending or screenshot from the symbol and delimiter

Michael,

?

The string the module seems to be sending when I press down is:

?

\xFC\xF0\xFF\x80\x80\x80\xA3\x83\xF9\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\x0A\x86

?

Any time I send a command I receive back \x00 via RX

Looks correct to me, also you have no delimiter correct?? ?4800? 8 1 O for settings correct?

No delimiter, by delimiter you mean in the COM port definition where TX/RX goes right? 4800, 8, 1, O is correct, RS485, None for handshaking.

I tested a motor with a similar string (different node id) and it works fine from an RMC3,? double-check the node id.

Otherwise, I am not sure why it is not working.

Make sure in your com port there is no delimiter set.

So just to confirm, is the RS485 port on the processor connected directly to the SDN port on Somfy or through a UAI plus?

Also, can you provide the node ID, and what model of the motor?
