DGE-2 Won't Detect Local Touchpanel Automatically
Hello!
I've spent too long trying to debug this one and thought I'd check the collective consciousness to see if any of you had come across this issue before.? I have a DGE-2 in a podium connected to a 17" Elo touchpanel via USB.? When the system boots there is no connectivity to the panel itself.? Using Toolbox I enter setup mode on the DGE-2 and navigate to TouchPanels->Other Devices->Elo->Calibrate.? This results in a dialog box without a title or content, just an OK button.? Using Toolbox to issue a calibration mode command to the DGE-2 launches the Elo calibrator and everything proceeds normally.? However, once I power cycle the DGE-2 the same process must be repeated.? This is for an install where the power cycles on a regular basis.?? Looking into the options available via the command prompt I came across TOUCHPanel which allows the user to set the routing for the touchpanel.? However, the only two options available are Auto and DM NET.? I tried local and usb as other options but had no luck.? The panel also offers a serial interface, but I don't know how to get the DGE-2 to use it. Any help anyone could offer to help resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.? I'm in an educational environment and classes start Monday.? Thanks! |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯ve not used a 3rd party TP with a DGE-2 but are you sure you¡¯re saving and rebooting after doing the ELO calibration and not just exiting setup? ? All of the panels based on the UPX foundation panels (including the UPX2 TMPC-8X/8X-GA, TMPC-V12/15, DGE-1 and DGE-2) don¡¯t actually write all settings to the file system until you ¡°save and reboot¡±; some settings would be lost if you just exit. ? Yes. I calibrate the screen and reboot and the device no longer works. A new wrinkle is that I can't get the device to work most times now. Again, if I plug in the touch screen to my computer it's just fine. Using any of the USB ports on the DGE-2 results in no connectivity to the touch panel. Same USB cable. Occasionally I will return to the device and the touch will have begun working. I think this is an issue with the embedded windows elo driver. Do you know if there's any way to get to that? To update it??

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHonestly, given the age and performance of the DGE-2 you¡¯d be much better off cutting your losses and using a DGE-100 or DM-DGE-200-C ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of

I've been looking for a solution to this for awhile.? I want to perform a SYSINStall to reset the embedded windows partition to a factory default.? I need a CSY file to do this.? The DGE2 says the following: "You must have the following to perform this function:- CSY update file in a supported mass storage device (ex. PCMCIA or USB CF Adapter)- A mouse or keyboard (Touchscreen will not be active in this mode)This will overwrite all data on the system drive and some user settings.Overwritten settings include administrator password.? See instructions for details.Project files will remain untouched. If you are sure you want to continue please type 'yes' and press enter: " ? |
