Toolbox Error Message: CNet ID 03. No parent address specified.
Dear All, Having an issue with Toolbox.? Two different machines, Desktop (Win7 Pro) and Laptop (XP SP3) and when creating a new entry in the Address Book I receive this error message and cannot create a new address. "The following entries have invalid address. Please correct or remove before selection OK: Remote Console to CNet ID 03:? No parent address specified." Anyone know how to fix this.? I have used Add/Remove programs and reinstalled Toolbox (TB suggestion) but no dice. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Ross Cook The Sound Room |
You can't directly connect to a Cresnet device. First you have to have a USB, TCP, or serial connection to a processor. Make that first, then choose that device as the parent. Chris

Wow! This is the second time this week that I've heard about TB failing to help someone out with such a basic thing. A tech contacted me a few days ago because he couldn't find the NVRAM folder on a Pro2 that I asked him to put some files in. He called TB, the even took over his laptop to see what the problem was, and then had him contact me to make sure my programming wasn't the issue. The issue was that the NVRAM wasn't enabled. Are they letting the janitors answer the TB line over there??

Looks like the new version of TB I installed today has some slight differences including reporting this error, related to not having your Indirect Parent device specified in the address book listing. Not sure if it caused the parent listing to be removed or what yet but its an easy fix...
Try just completing the listing for that Cresnet device? ?I.e, Selected Entry connection type - Indirect Device is at Cresnet ID 3 Through (Specify master here) Done Chad |
