Re: Let's have a candid conversation.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWell, enterprise it-applications based on a subscription do that check locally within the software. When the subscription expires, you get a warning and then you just renew it with a new key. Re: Crestron control system with non Crestron MTR

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThat comes the rub, at least in my experience fewer and fewer meetings are staffed by the "trained person" -- the notable exceptions being "all hands" type meetings -- and in those the executive likely isn't the one driving the teams/zoom meeting either. Providing the custom functionality as a duplicate XPanel can be useful for those "remote assist" type moments and of course this doesn't answer the "can you" question... Which AFAIK is "yes but only if you do everything through automation (e.g. sync detection) or use two different UIs...at which point the Crestron packaged solution starts to look less appealing compared to some of the more mainstream MTR offeringsGet From: [email protected] <[email protected]> on behalf of Cory <cory@...>

I have heard different opinions on the practicality, but I prefer to actually have two panels, one Crestron, one MTR.? The person holding the meeting can drive the call like they are used to, and an assistant, or the IT person, or other support person
can drive the room.? My opinion is this provides a nice separation of work, and lets the executive focus on their meeting, and the trained personnel can likewise drive the room safely.

It won't have any integration with the unit, but you can definitely have it in a Crestron control system but you would need another panel / UI to run the teams interface. The Crestron Flex systems have specific crestron software running on them that allows them to "integrate" with the control system and crestron panels. That software isn't installed on any other manufacturer systems. |

Re: Let¡¯s have a candid conversation.
With used 3-series and/or VC4 we can spec all the other pieces from others...A sad day though...Therein lies the problem.? Why stop there then, ditch the processor and sandbox, and go to a RaspPi or some other box, and you have full linux OS stack open to your liking.? Who needs Crestron at that point, you are already sinking big time+money into R&D since you already have to learn to write all the code on disparate languages and frameworks from hodgepodge vendors.? They are pushing to be obsolete fast if THAT is what the solution to their shortcoming has become. I have clients that are looking at all kinds of options, Including going back to AMX after finally dropping them years ago.? I'm not sure if Crestron realizes how desparate some integrators are becoming.? Maybe they do, and are just playing it off to hopefully keep everyone from jumping ship while waiting around... -- Jason Mussetter Control Systems Designer Mussetter Programming Services |

Regarding the use of VC4 for residential, we don't live in a "per room" world.
So, does that equate to a "per program" model as well? Room=Program, but as I understand it, each 'Room/Program' needs a license @ $ 500.00/ea, thus Main Program Sonos Management Security Interface Lighting Interface $ 2000.00 in licensing... |
