Is there a way for different touchpanels to talk to each other?
I'm trying to have a TST-902 to talk to TSW-752 but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. For example, I want my portable touchpanel to call up another touchpanel in a room.? Hopefully someone can give me some pointers.? |
Re: WP Window Processor and DM-RMC-Scaler-C
On second thought, you may be able use get Ethernet from the HD-WP-4K-401-C.? However, because the HD-WP-4K-401-C only has a 10/100baseT port, it cannot handle lots of Ethernet traffic or there may be some issue with using Ethernet from the HD-WP output.? The latter may be the reason for the rather strange note in the HD-WP spec sheet.? In this latter case, if there is any type of Ethernet coming down the HDBT output, it will cause a network loop when you connect the DM-RMC-SCALER-C to any type of Ethernet Network.
But if it the Ethernet over HDBT does work, you would just drop the DM-RMC on an Ethernet slot in the processor instead of on the HD-WP slot. |
Panel Issue
I have a TSW-752 touch panel which is giving me some problems ....
Certain area of the touchpanel is not responsive anymore, the top row (about 60 pixels from the top) and the third row (about 180 pixels from the top). The whole row is about 480 pixels, all not responsive nor touchable anymore.? Wonder if anyone else is encountering what I'm facing? These flimpsy touchpanels are horrible in quality, I only used the panel for 3 months, brand new from the box!? |
Re: WP Window Processor and DM-RMC-Scaler-C
Because the output of the HD-WP says HDBT instead of the DM OUT, there is a good chance that Ethernet will not transverse the HDBT output.? But if you look at the datasheet for the HD-WP, it says "Note HDBT output is connection to HDBaseT or DM equipment only; do not connect to an Ethernet network".? Not sure what they mean by that but it seem to indicate the HDBT output does have Ethernet.? But since you cannot add the DM-RMC-SCALER-C to the HE-WP slot, it would indicate that is a mute question whether the HDBT output has Ethernet embedded or not.
In a pinch, I have put Crestron Ethernet devices on a wireless bridge to gain control over them.? In this case, you would would connect the wireless bridge to the LAN jack of the DM-RMC-Scaler-C.? Then drop the DM-RMC-SCALER-C on the Ethernet slot on your Crestron processor. Should work across subnets assuming no firewall rules are blocking the DM-RMC-SCALER-C from getting to the processor.? If I remember correctly, by defaut, the DM-RMC-SCALER-C can get its IP address via DHCP.? If not, just set the DM-RMC-SCALER-C to a static IP (my usual method). |

another alternative may be to use a DM-TX with a LAN portHey Lincoln, Yeah unfortunately I only have access to the engineering drawings and have no specification authority on this one. I'm concerned that the design will not support the requirements. just trying to determine what admonitions/recommendations I need to make...:) |

Yes you can imbed the receiver in the hdbt output and control itInteresting, ATSG just responded to my support case with "HD-WP-4K-401-C HDBT output will??NOT?traverse the Lan IP information?", which I take to mean that the RMC will not get an IP address and thus not allow control of an IP-ID... Monticellog, You have definitely? had an RMC accessible thru the HDBT port? |

Re: XPanel dilemma
Here's what I found in a different topic here.
In that topic they talked about the TSR-302 but I recon it should be the same when it comes to that. Haven't tried it yet, but here it is. "Here's what I did to get it working:

Re: XPanel dilemma
You can set up a 902 to control SIMPL programs via Wi-Fi with a standard internet AP/wi-fi router.
It's called a wifi snippet.? I don't remember the specific code.? But it makes the 902 wifi only, and there's a wifi device you have to add to the SIMPL program. Talk to tech support for details. I have 902s controlling VC-4s via a cheap wireless router.? It was a long process to get working. |
