Re: How many x-panels or crestron mobile pros

I'm sure others have done more, but I've done up to 8 ipads before, but I can't tell you how many are used at once. I'm interested in what comes up here.

I have been asked to replace 9 vt3500s with iPads, and probably add a couple more x-panel or iphones as well. A pro2 and rack2 are available, but I am thinking that is not enough horsepower and I should recommend a 3 series processor to replace the pro2. I expect there would only ever be 3 or 4 in use simultaneously, and that would require the whole family be on them at the same time.

Thanks

You can use html font tags.

Does anyone know how to add fonts to a Core3 project?
I'm starting a new project using the TSW1050 and the client CANNOT have Arial only.

Cool use of logic waves to do the recalling on boot then switch to store, I tend to use
much less elegant methods, need to learn more about and understand the logic wave stuff.

For more than one string, add more SRAM symbols.

S+ that stores to a file is a better solution, though. It would be
pretty straight-forward of modify the NV Analogs to Disk module from
the files area to handle strings.

Do you know that trick with ARAM where you can put a 1 on store, recall and select 1, and

Is there a way to do that with SRAM? I need to set a room name in debugger or Roomview and
have it stick. Lots of rooms, they may change, so I don't want to hard code it in the
program. What is the smoothest way to do this?

Re: Smartboard USB control over DM USB-HID

The problem with usb is the amount of hub between the computer and the
device.

I see some extender acting like 3 hubs when connected.

And if you using the smart usb speaker your adding a new hub, the pentray
usb switcher is another hub.

Is this the one you used?

Re: STX-1700CXP graphics

If memory serves, I would stay away from anti-aliased fonts when using 12-14pt or below, which means about 90% of the project.

If doing a heading or something bigger at 16pt+ you might get away with anti-aliased, embossed, or raised, but most of the time it just makes it look worse. You can make it a little better by using italics, or a naturally slanted font, like Eras Bold ITC.

Apply "fringing" at your own risk; your eyes may actually explode.

And remember, when all else fails, Comic Sans will help build up enough rage to actually smash the panel on the floor.

Setting x2 in the view helps, but it's still hard to layout that way. I've been using just Arial text with the font even set below the choices and still looks crappy.

Can I use the USB-HID ports on the DM-RMC-Scaler and DM 8x8 input cards to

Is the Smartboard considered an HID device?

The PC is located in a cabinet with the DM8x8 and the Smartboard is
located on an adjacent wall about 30' away

Thanks for any info you may have.

Re: Vision Tools and Ipad and now Iphone

I got the Ipad to work I must have hit OK instead of Cancel on the password screen so it saved a blank password Ipad didn't like this.

what I am working on now is setting up screens for an Iphone. I don't want as much control on the phone just a few important ones. I have made new pages in Vision tools and in Simpl I have made a new Mobile under the Ethernet. I have changed the port number form 41970 to 41972 and named the Project "Iphone" same as the vision tools. I have set the pass code and have loaded everything on the Processor. both the .Ipad and .iphone are showing up on the processor. and Simpl compiled and loaded just fine. The Ipad is still working like it should but when I try my Iphone it says

Warning "The Host and Port values appear to be invalid Please check your host and port setting and try again.

what do I need to change or setup to have two devices like this. Thanks

In vision tools I opened Ipad 4.2
I changed the text on button "dinner bar" to "Express"
I saved
I then hit the upload button (compiled at this time) and picked the processor
I sent the files to the processor and checked the Included subfolders
Everything looked like it sent to took about 30 seconds or so
Try connecting with Ipad after closing out of the Crestron app on the Ipad and restarting
It comes up with the screen to connect and kind of bonces and goes back to pick a system

Is there a step I am missing do I need to restart the Processor?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I also ran into this issue a couple of years ago. A VLAN helped some, but the
ultimate fix was a firmware update. I've done several 4SM's and SMD's since
then and haven't seen it, so I'd assume reasonably recent firmware "should" be
okay.

Re: Hard Buttons on TMPC-4SMD Cause Runaway Volume Issues

Not sure it applies here, but I had same issue with TSW-750 panel.
Had to sample the analog for the volume bar to reduce traffic back to the panel. Before that, up/down hardkeys for volume would run away as if the release was not detected.

You can't compare it to clarity of modern panels or IPADs, will never come close.
Have to do quite a few upgrades with them UGH recently.
Arial Bold seems to be about the best you can do.
