NVIDIA Shield and IRUSb

Hey guys,

I'm just tinkering around with an NVIDIA Shield Pro & the IRUSB device+app and having some issues. I cant seem to get any of the QHIDCODE's to work which is a bit weird! I've tested it with an RMC3 and VC4, I've also tested a bunch of different codes and im running everything through an SIO > TCP/IP Client using the IP address of the device & port 9093. I've tried un-installing & reinstalling the app, clearing the app cache, switching between the USB ports, etc. Im getting successful connection feedback from the TCP/IP client, just no luck with commands.

Is there anything im doing wrong? I feel like it'll be something obvious..?

I feel so much better with more people not looking at the date on the OP... : o

Re: toggle problem

Or, you can use a good 'ol ST-VS in there, and do sync detection off the composite video feed to determine the true state of power of the VCR, so when you send it the "power toggle" command, you have something that give you true feedback.? Boy that takes me back--The grab-bag of oddities of various sync sensors, current sensors, and the old sensors that would go on the back of tube TV's do detect the magnetic field when it was on.? I'm glad I haven't messed with those in a long time...? around as long as programming those CNMSX's and the horrible ST-CP's (which were overused in too many systems).

Re: Crestron Go - Restore Purchase process on new device

Sounds like they are trying to purchase rather than download previously purchased apps. ? ? Was it Go or Crestron for X that was previously purchased? ? ?Get them to go to the app store and click on their logo to see their account and then click Purchased. ? They should be able to download the version they purchased.

Crestron Go - Restore Purchase process on new device

It's been awhile since I've had to do this... have a customer with a new iPhone and they have re-downloaded the Crestron Go App.
They have already purchased the App on the Apple ID in question. It's prompting them that they have to either purchase or restore
a previous upgrade to view their project. It tells them to hit the Upgrade button to continue
and when they do the get a "Double click to Pay" screen with the full price listed at the bottom.

Just want to be sure they are not going to be double charged again...the Apple prompts are misleading...

TIA

Re: toggle problem

I dont, never have nor ever would use system builder but I know from past experience troubleshooting the code of others that have used it that it populates every signal on every device. This is the reason I asked the question about the device programming method. While we are grandstanding, as my Crestron programming career began in 1998, I started with Workshop and Panel or whatever they were called at the time (if memory serves me) and I have seen dare I say, most scenario's with defunct software implimentation such as System Builder. My point with my question, was that unless power toggling was specifically programmed into the switching of the code (such as could be done with System Builder without the programmer knowing it), the toggling would have to be done by other means. Concerning the rest of the system, in particular a CNCS could be in play, the CNMSX has no AV capabilities, so CEC control is out of the question unless there is other pertinent gear possibly of the same generation as the CNMSX that could be passing CEC commands. Maybe even products from the QM line.

If I were in the situation and had programmed the code and knew for certain that I didnt have this toggling action as part of the code, I would switch sources, which by my understanding of the issue, would turn a device on via IR, I would then pull the IR probe and switch sources again to determine if it is infact an IR signal performing the action. The same could be done with the HDMI to determine if there unintentional CEC commands floating around (in relation to the DVD player of course).

Re: toggle problem

When we used to do this type of thing System Builder didn't exist. I've been programming Crestron systems for over 20 years, though I'm happy to say I'm 90% retired these days, I just pop by here once in a while to amuse myself.

Re: toggle problem

Did you porgram this in Simpl or with System Builder or something?
If you used Simpl, this sort of thing wouldnt happen unless you programmed it to do so. What else is in your system?

Re: toggle problem

That is some old school stuff that probably requires some old school programming.

Back in the CNMSX era most AV gear didn't have discreet power codes, The solution was to use the play command to turn on the device (or anything else on the remote that would power it on, sometimes hitting eject would do it) then use the power command to turn it off. If you used play to turn it on the stepper sequence would be play > stop, to turn it off you would use play > stop > power.

It's a kludge since anytime you turn off the room the players turn on and off again, but sometimes it's the only way.

At some point Sony DVD's got discreet power commands, you could try one in the data base that has the discreet commands and see if they work. But I don't remember aver seeing a VCR with discreet power commands,

Re: Nvx 360

Crestron uses the term "Recovery Procedure" when referring to resetting a device (to "fresh out-of-the-box state" or "factory defaults") when credentials need to be cleared or there are issues communicating with the device.

Recovery Procedures are intentionally hosted in Online Help articles that require dealer/partner level logins, rather than being made publicly accessible in product manuals, to help mitigate risk of devices being reset by bad actors.

Start by reviewing the streaming device settings.
Typically (if possible) you'll want to set up a new substream with very low settings (480p@10fps, etc.) to test with, then gradually increase its resolution/framerate/bitrate from there.

shows the max recommended stream settings for each panel.
x70 supports 1920x1080@30fps?20Mbps,HighProfile.
x52/x02 supports 1280x720@15fps?768Kbps CBR, BaselineProfile.

OLH also notes some helpful cmds like MEDIAPLAYERTCP that you may want to try adjusting if the low res substream still isn't showing.

Nvx 360

how do you reset the crestron nvx 360 because the power light is orange

Re: Andriod TV control

Guys, were you able to control it?
I have a collage just asking for this exact thing and he is not being able to control the tv with the described api.
TV is responding to pings, so it's alive.

Thanks

Re: RTSP & XPanel/TST-902

First thing that comes to mind - is your camera stream h265? If it is, that will be decoded on x70 but not on older panels like the 902.

If it is h264 or MJPEG, lower res/refresh/bitrate till 902 displays it. It is after all 10 years old hardware (internals).

Re: RTSP & XPanel/TST-902

For the TST-902 I have enabled both RF & Wifi, nothing shows.

I actually entered the URL in the RTSP Diagnostics in the setup:
rtsp://name:[email protected]:554/Streaming/channels/101

This rtsp URL works in my TSW-770 touchpanels but did not show up on my TST-902. That's why I'm puzzled what have I done wrongly that no streaming video showed up?
