Re: TCP Client Stopped working
I made a decision a few years ago (6+ ?) not to use the 'N' models (CPxN, Pro3/4, AV3/4) because of the extra 'special sauce' that they had to manage/maintain. I felt that this possibly created issues that the standard processors without the router did not.
And I have not secret knowledge that that is the route of your problems with the TCP functions, just a gut that there's too much going on with the 'N' units. NOTE: my initial problem was with a CP4 not an 'N' unit. I also understand that you probably have to use the 'N' units particularly in commercial settings. I play primarily in the hi-end Resi world where we can (and demand!) that we control/manage the network so I don't have to use those processors... If you can stay away from them and manage your network needs via a 'real' router, I would do that. |
Re: TCP Client Stopped working
I've definitely had issues with TCP/IP Clients not reconnecting on a CP4N the way they would on 3-series, and even worse not disconnecting and reconnecting when the Connect line is dropped and raised again.? My current working logic is to send a ping command every 30 seconds, and if it goes more than 10 seconds without a response, drop the Connect line for 5 seconds.? When it only dropped for 1 second it wouldn't reliably reconnect to the TesiraForte or Shure MXA920s.? Current firmware on everything. Re: SIMPL# question
Actually, the RS adapter is still there for the Spa.? Just no wire.? Will also need another for the pool.? Looks like the RS Adapter is still available from Amazon.?

Yes, I thought about doing a wireless solution as we do have WiFi at both locations.? With temperatures here in the summer sometimes getting up to 110F or more and high humidity, need to find something that can take the harsh environment.? Thinking about using a Raspberry PI Pico W with a small custom board for the RS232 level change.? Low power and cheap so if it fails, just put in another. Right now I am waiting for the go ahead to implement. |
Re: SIMPL# question
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIf there is wifi or wired ethernet available at the pool equipment you can test/implement it with any of an array of things like an old 2-series all the way up to the current cen com2 whatever box..? Sounds like they lost the interface though, so that is a bummer. ? From: <[email protected]> on behalf of Steve Kuehn <steve@...> ? Thank.? I wish that was an option.? The issue is it would cost a butt load of money to trench to the two Jandy systems, add lightning protection, and then even find an RS Interface.? The current single RS interface was working until someone apparently slice that line somewhere in the yard.? Then replaced the Jandy controller.? And no one knows how it gets in the house. |
Re: CRESTRON CONSTRUCT first impressions
I recently completed a full project in Construct. Although the project was fairly simple, after finishing it, I decided to set Construct aside for another release or two. I'm not a big fan of web XPanels compared to C3P files. Providing web XPanels to customers feels cumbersome, and they seem to connect slowly. Initially, I thought one had failed, but it eventually worked. I had hoped the CH5 version manager would check for the latest version and automatically grab it, but unfortunately, version 2.9.0 was not available. Initially, I found it neat to show different blocks for each widget in a widget list. However, if the list contains 200 instances, managing all the blocks becomes much more challenging compared to a list like in SG. I could have managed it with another beer, but Simpl Windows doesn't allow copying from one of these blocks to another. Just when I thought I had completed all my edits, something broke in my Construct file. Every time I tried to compile, I received an error indicating that it failed because it was attempting to add an object with a duplicate ID. I tried to troubleshoot the issue, but at that point, I had already wasted enough time and switched back to VTPro. |
Re: Gas Valve compatible with Crestron Home?
The Pentair fireman switch is a jumper wire that can be removed to then remotely control the heater by relay closure. The fireman switch operates at 24v. When the jumper wire is installed the heater will work normally. Remove the jumper wire and connect your relay to the fireman switch and you will now have remote control.? Shorting the terminals with your relay will cause the heat to turn on. This is how several of the control panels for Pentair heaters control the heater.? You will also need to turn the temperature of the heater up to it's maximum so that there is only one system controlling the temperature.? Note that the display panel will be dark when you aren't calling for heat. The recommended method of remote control is to add a Pentair Intellicenter to control the heater, lights, and other pool accessories, and communicate with the Intellicenter using serial communications. You may also be able to provide more elegant control of the heater using a Crestron thermostat and remote temperature sensor. CrestronGo Tablet
I have a iPad with the newest OS on it, i am trying to load a project to it locally. for some reason it will not take the .xml, i have 2 ipads on this project, the other ipad takes it fine. it looks to me like there is a corrupt file on the ipad that is not letting this thing load, i have tried all the tools in ToolBox, deleted the CrestronGo app, reinstalled etc. Does anyone know of a console command or anyway to delete the remnants of the last file on this ipad? TB wants me to erase the ipad, but the customer does not want to do that very bad.

Re: TCP Client Stopped working
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSame here: no issues with TCP Clients. Also on 3 and 4-Series and also a mixture of ¡°1¡± and enabling programmatically. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von ckangis ? Other than the one instance/site that I had the issue with, that started this thread I haven't had any real issues with TCP client connections. Things have been very stable on 3 and 4-series... |
Re: Crestron App touch screen options
Up until now, I've had zero Crestron app experience.? I've been struggling to consistently. connect.? On the tablet end, you have a choice of connecting to the processor via host name or IP address.? I had been using host name with very little luck.? As a last resort, I swapped it out for IP address and it couldn't connect faster. Like almost instant connection.

Re: NVX routing with Crestron Home
So when all else fails, strip it all down, do a factory reset, and build it up again..... and well, it worked.??
So as pieces of the system have been delivered I've been adding them to the system, while playing with a couple of different switches, firewalls, network configurations, etc..? I believe along the way certain settings, configuration's, and/or defaults got off and it took restoring all the pieces, and implementing everything all at once did the trick.? I did also make one small tweak to my vlan settings in my firewall as I rebuilt everything its possible that was it as well, but I lean towards the former.? Thanks for everyone's input, I am sure I'll be back with more questions later :) |
